Cabela's All-Pro Spincast Combo

The Cabela's All-Pro combo provides you with a trouble-free performing spincast combo for a variety of freshwater conditions. Reels feature a polished stainless steel front cone, lightweight graphite frame, heavy-duty metal gears, adjustable disc drags, and dual pickup pins. All reels come pre-spooled with appropriate line. The tubular two-piece glass rod sports foam grips, twist-lock reel seat, and stainless steel guides. Choose from 4'6", 5', 5'6", or 6' rod lengths.

"I'm not an avid fisherman, just love to hit the farm ponds now and then. This rod fits the bill. Easy to use, lightweight and can be broken down to put in a case if need be. Sweet."

"I bought this combo for my 5yr old and it has been wonderful.He has had no problems at all. We have caught quite a few fish and had no tangles or problems at all.It is very easy for him to cast and hold."

"I gave my wife one of these combo's and she loves it.
My good friend lost all his tackle in a devestating house fire a few months back and when we finally got a chance to go fishing he used her new combo and decided he liked it better than the brand he had been using for many years. I gave him one for his birthday and plan on ordering some more of them for gifts and such.
The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that I don't know how well it will hold up over time, but so far it is money well spent!"

Nice little rod for the money, June 23, 2009

"I bought this rod for my 6 year old grandaughter to replace the tiny little thing she had fished with until now. She adapted to having her first "real" fishing rod quickly and was making nice casts with no help after an hour or so. The 4'6" size is comfortable for her, and the underspin model with the trigger close to the rod is the best solution for little hands. On our first fishing trip with the new rod she caught her first smallmouth after only catching panfish until now. Quite a thrill for her and grandpa. The rod seems nicely made, not quite as fancy (or expensive) as my own but a really nice value and highly recommended for the younger anglers."

"I purchased the underspin model of this combo for my 5 year old daughter to take to the free fishing day here in OR. It arrived just in time and she couldn’t wait to try it out. After a full day of fishing and over 10 lake trout later she is in love. They were small 11” stocked trout but they had some fight in them and the ultra light rod made her feel like she was fighting “the big one”, making it even more fun. With a little practice she is able to cast on her own so I am now relegated to net and baiting duty. It performed flawlessly and wile I don’t think it will last forever I am confident that she will be able to use it until she is ready to move up to a full spinning reel. I didn’t have to spend any time untangling and with the included 4 pound line it casts like a dream. The drag was consistent and had plenty of power for anything that she will be catching. The only issue I had was a piece of old rubber band stuck to the spool so I had to clean that off to get the line to play out smoothly but once that was cleaned up it was flawless."

"I purchased this combo as a back up and for a visiting guest and I ended up using it because I would have felt bad pawning it off on a guest. The 2-piece rod and grip are nice, but the reel is very sluggish and performs poorly. I also purchased a Pro Guide Synergy IM6 spincast combo for about $5 more and WOW, what a difference! Night and day, really.

I tried like crazy to adjust it and it never did get dialed in. Do yourself a favor and pass on this All-Pro and get the Pro Guide. You'll thank me later."

"This is an excellant beginer set up ay a vey reasonable cost. It is about the same price as one of the cheap plastic sets that you can buy for kids but ther is no comparison in the quality of the product."

"I bought two of these combos for my kids - we've used them a few times (my 5 yr. old got a little sunfish and a medium-sized bass last time we were at the Cape), and all the kids have had fun practicing casting. I think they are a great value. The reel seems to me to be much nicer (smoother action and the drag seems better) than the reel in the Shakespeare spincasting combo I bought at the local tackle shop (for about the same price) when all 3 kids decided they wanted to go fishing at once.
It would be nice if the rod had a hook keeper."

"The 25 Cabela's All-Pro Spincast Combos have been in use since Saturday May 3. They were issued to about 22 people with an average age of 22. Mostly younge children that were new to fishing. I received raves about the ease of casting and especialy the good catches, two large mouth bass weighing more than 4# and some very large red ear bream.
Only one fatality, one of the reels release button broke at the hinge."
