"to large of opening, 12" catfish can get in and then tear apart the netting to get out I had to repair trap three times in a 8 hr soak, great idea but needs to be made of stronger netting and openings need to be smaller"

Excellent trap,May 19, 2009
By wenstephfrom Savannah, GA
"I have the medium. I use it in fresh water lagoons and ponds and usually do a 24 hour soak period. I have yet to ever get less than double digit numbers of minnows and small bream and once had a solid 3 lb bass in the trap. I previously used the cylindrical metal traps and only picked up 5 or 6 minnows each time."

Surprisingly Excellent,August 19, 2008
By Benbeaglefrom Southwick, Massachusetts
"We use this trap in our pond in Vermont. Throw a couple of bits of dog food in, and voila! you get shiners!! The entry holes are a little big, so the minnows will find their way back out, but really is a great portable product."

Super traps for crawdads,April 22, 2008
By Mojavejazfrom Las Vegas, Nevada
"These traps exxceeded expectations - really good for long term trapping of crawdads - you dont have to check them often since they cant escape. they do require deeper water, but once in they catch crawdads immediately. Very easy to bait adn empty - I wouldnt change a thing with this product."

"great!! works well of a pier, lots of crabs, small to midium size fish. would advise get either the medium or large. gave 4 stars because they often need a small bit of repair after a couple of outings, would be nice if they came with more rope"

GREAT,January 1, 2008
By joe24from Alpharetta, GA
"I got the large collapsible trap and boy does it catch a ton of fish. It is litteraly impossible for a fish to ever get out of it (thanks to that swim channel that leads to the trap). But I did notice the small version didnt have this cloth channel. The big trap catches all sized fish, from minnows to palm sized bluegill."

Collapsible Crawfish Trap,October 15, 2007
By MC1000from Riverton, UT
"I like the size that this trap collapses to. My only complaint is that some of the seams tear out in a shorter time frame than I would expect. Some type of backing material where they sew mesh to mesh would make this a much more durable product."

collapsible minnow traps -- they're great!,September 24, 2007
By maxifrom smalltown, new york
"I had no idea what to expect when I bought three of the collapsible minnow traps. They were absolutely super. The zipper pocket for the bait, the zipper for removal of the catch, and the lightweight product made for an excellent product at a very reasonable price. And the minnows were fooled. 'nuff said."

Minnow traps for fish survey,August 21, 2007
By westsidefrom Hoh valley, WA
"We used these to determine fish presence in perennial and seasonal sreams on the west side of the Olympic Peninsula. They worked great. They take up little space when collapsed flat and will fit into the back of a cruiser vest, hold the bait overnight, dry out easily and keep the critters in till you check. Simple and cheap too."

crawfish trap,August 20, 2007
By sierrabobfrom I live in Southern California
"I purchased the crawfish trap with hopes of getting a few of these tasty little fresh water lobsters. I got so many of the fish that if you think you could use a bigger trap, then you must be feeding an army! The first time I used the trap I nearly fell into the lake I was trying the trap in! I got over 500 of the crawfish the first night! Purchase the trap and watch out for the number fish that you will get, especially if the lake is noted for containing crawfish. The lake I used it in was in the Eastern Sierra area near Lake Tahoe! What fun! Thanks for offering the trap."

Larger bait,August 20, 2007
By Kyakfrom Toms River,NJ
"The Promar trap is fine for larger bait, the mesh tends to be a little too large and smaller bait is lost. Also if there are crabs in the area they will tear up the trap to get inside."

Easy to use,July 10, 2007
By drkrmfrom North Georgia
"Much easier to open than the wire type. Bait dumps out of the wire traps a lillte easier, but, I have used both and like this one."
