"I got a 7' stick right before a striper fishing trip to the California Delta. I used it to throw 1/2 oz. Stump Jumpers for two days straight. It worked flawlessly!. It gave me enough feel to keep the bait in contact with the cover and had enough forgiveness to take the brunt of savage strikes from salt -fresh stripers without ripping the hook free.
I'm going to order SEVERAL more!"

"Very well made rod, extra long handle & plenty of rod guides. The only bad part of this rod is that it is very stiff. I purchased it with the intention of using the 8' rods on my downrigger set ups. I'm afraid that they are a little too stiff to get the proper bend in them for trolling. I'm not blaming Cabelas, these are just what they're advertised as, it was my bad."

"I returned this rod before using. I ordered a Meduim light and the rod seemed really big, more like a medium heavy. Otherwise, it seemed like a really nice rod and good quality. It just wasn't what I was looking for."

Excellent Cranking Rod,

"Two years ago, I bought a 6'6" model and love it for crank-baiting, so I just bought a 7' model. I have caught largemouth up to 7 lbs and rarely lose a bass due to the rod action. The only reason I did not rate it 5 stars is because it is somewhat heavier than the higher priced cranking rods, but I'm not willing to pay 10 times as much for the weight savings. I have literally fished this one all day long and the problem is not too serious in that regard. I plan to buy a spinning model next for my smaller, lighter crank baits."

"THIS IS A GOOD ROD FOR THE MONEY. IWOULD HAVE GIVEN IT 5 STARS,BUT WOULD LIKE TO SEE THE HANDLE 1 AND A HALF TO 2 INCHES LONGER.I TROLL ON LAKE SUPERIOR AND YOU GET MORE POWER WITH A LONGER HANDLE."

"I have two of these a 6 1/2 med. light and a 7 med. and for the money you cann't beat them. Have caught alot of good size smallies on these. I got one of these on sale which made it that much better. You really should check one of these out."

"I busted my good casting rod and needed a fast replacement, this fit the bill. I don't do much if any bait casting. This is used by my Daughter for trolling. It's a nice rod for the price, and does the job. I prefer a thinner blank, this is as big as my first casting rod from years ago. But I knew what I was buying and am very pleased with the performance. Much better than that old fiberglass stuff."

"I have only used this rod for a short time but I'm very happy with it so far. It is advertised as a good rod for crank baits and that is what I've used if for so far. Fishing has been for large and smallmouth bass."
