Great Value,May 19, 2009
By tslik83from Michigan
"I'm not a "over the top" fly-fishing nut-case . . . yet. So a great guide in Montana turned me onto TFO and the great value they represent. The TFO isn't a Sage or Orvis in terms of reputation, but if you're looking for excellent quality backed by a the reputation of Lefty, great value and you don't care about the name on the rod (because the fish really care!) . . . look no further. I bought this 8 wt rod and a Ross 3.5 Evolution reel for the same money that I could have bought just an Orvis rod. The only thing that doesn't get satisfied is my ego. After the first catch . . . I'm over it! And the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I cannot personally attest to how it actually stacks up against the big guys. But I'm sold and completely happy."

TFO TiCr X,March 17, 2009
By LondonJoshfrom Ontario, Canada, Steelheader!
"Best bang for the buck BY FAR! I own some high end and/or custom rods (Loomis, Sage, Rainshadow, Lamiglas) my TFO's outperform them all! Not as pretty as a custom but perform better and cost ALOT less! Great warranty as well!
Just buy one!
Josh"

"I own the 9WT and fish exclusively saltwater, very fast tip, will shoot almost an entire fly line with a nice double haul. Turns big flies easily, throws as well as rods twice this size."

"This is a wonderfull good ff-rod for sea but also for lakes. A good caster casts without any trouble a 40+ line out of the reel. Good top-action. I broke once the 2e part, had no trouble in receiving a new piece, good service !!"

Experienced Casters ONLY!,August 28, 2008
By TexasHappyCamperfrom Fort Worth, Texas
"First off...I love TFO rods but this one was too much rod for me. If you aren't an experienced caster and have never used an extremely fast action rod....try it out first. It ate my lunch. I took it back after fighting with it for two weeks. I still gave it a five though....it's a beautiful rod if you know how to use it."

TiCr and TiCrx,August 4, 2008
By DrDavidfrom Miami, Fl
"I am a saltwater guy only and have three temple fork rods. I have fished with almost every high end rod and these rods are a great value. You may have to experiment with different lines to get the best casting result for your type of fishing. Just because it says 8 weight doesn't mean it will cast every type of eight weight line well. The TiCr X eight weight is very stiff and may need a heavier line to load quick. Try a nine weight salt taper with this rod and you will be very happy. The TiCr seven weight handles well with a seven weight floating line."

Wow!!!,May 19, 2008
By Hornsfrom Alton, NH
"I am new to Fly Fishing. This rod was my "upgrade" from my newbie pole. I am glad I went with everyone’s reviews. Went out this past weekend and landed 2, 16" Bows. Rod cast VERY smooth. It made noticeable improvements to my cast. My old rod had some serious tip bounce that was making my loops look sloppy. Not any more, loops looked great I found myself casting to admire them!
An in creditable value.
I have to admit I was a little confused when putting the blanks together there is a small area of Grey that shows, looks like they don’t fit tight together. On of the fellow Fly guys on the river told me its so as the rod wears you can keep sliding them tighter. So I guess my rookie mistake :)
Can not beat the No Fault warranty!"

TiCrx 5 and 6 weight rods,January 16, 2008
By brownbuster1from PC, FL
"I have fished the TiCrx in both line weights and they performed very well. If you can spend the extra money, the Axiom series is a better rod. I landed 44 browns between 17-29 inches in a 9 day trip this last fall using the TiCrx rods. The 5 weight is my favorite, with a ton of sensitivity. Exceptional rods for the $$$$, but I would go with the Axiom if it is available in line class. Just purchased another TiCrx in the new 4 weight and can't wait to do some dry fly fishing this Spring!! Temple Fork is the ultimate producer of top-of-the-line rods for value conscious anglers like myself."

5wt 9',August 7, 2007
By TroutReedfrom Keller, Texas
"Great fly rod for windy conditions, very long cast or heavier flys. Works great as well for precision cast. I have caught everything from rainbows, browns, cut throats, brookies, perch, cat fish and bass with this rod. It's the best rod I have for the money. The more I think about this rod, it makes me want to go fishing...see ya on the water!"

Casting canon,June 26, 2007
By AdrianDfrom Europe
"The TiCrX 8 is an outstanding rod. I use 8 and 9 weight lines on it. Especially with the 9 line it's not hard to reach 100 yards+. I have got a 7 too and tried the 9. Both fine rods but not as outstanding as the 8. You'll never regret buying it."

Temple Fork Outfitters Lefty Kreh TiCr X Fly Rods,May 19, 2007
By Sixgunner71from Luxembourg, Europe
"Outstanding product. Defeated a 30 lbs Jack Crevalle on the 10-weight without a hiccup. Casts beautifully with true 10-weight lines, unlike other rods that need a heavier line to load properly. I cast the whole series at a flyfishing show, it was hard to compare to the pricier makes, given the very reasonable cost of these items"

1 Sage XP vs. 2 TFO TICRXs,January 8, 2007
By BigBrownTroutfrom Overland Park, KS
"I have the saltwater 6 wt. and the 8 wt. Extremely responsive with powerful butts and fast action. I broke the 8 wt. on a recent bonefishing trip and the 6 wt. subdued the fish brilliantly. As soon as I returned to the states, I mailed the rod back to TFO with $25 and within 5 business days I had a new rod. Why buy 1 Sage XP when you can get TICRX's for the same price? They cast similarly, and I actually prefer TFO. I'm planning on getting the 9 wt. before I go saltwater fishing again...Permit."

TiCr X Fly Rods,November 24, 2006
By 2006duckfrom RIchmond VA
"The 8 weight Temple Forks rod performed well in the everglades for making those into the wind casts with heavy fly patterns. I loaded it with a sinking tip line and stretched out the line for 75 and 100 foot casts into the wind. The rod loads easily for making tight casts and soft presentations. Clean up from saltwater is so easy, I replaced my favorite 5 weight with another TiCrX. Sensitive and responsive to setting the hook. Overall rating Excellent"
