"I originally bought this to go to Yellowstone, just incase we had any run ins with bears, but glad to report we just got back and had none. But we tried it out before we left, and I am convinced that if we had used it on a bear, it would of hightailed it out of there!"

"This device is intended to be an alternative to the traditional air horn. The benefit is that it is battery operated and will operate far longer than an air horn that needs to have the cannisters replaced frequently (or refilled frequently in the case of the re-chargeable air horn).
Another distinctive feature is the sound quality. It is definitely electronic and would not be confused with the sound of a traditional air horn.
The drawback is the volume. I work as a PE teacher and have tested this unit across the length of our football field. The sound can be heard from end to end, but it is not very loud at that range. In a quiet environment it could be heard, but not over a crowd.
I bought this product at the same time I purchased a rechargeable air horn. I prefer the other product and despite the need for constant re-filling, I would choose it over this product."

"It was a little difficult to get the 9 volt battery put in as the area in the handle base for it to go is a little cramped. Once the battery was in the horn worked great. Definitely gets your attention. Mounted it under my boats console where the driver sits for easy access. Will have to wait and see how it holds up under boating conditions but for now everything is fine with it. Good price for the product as well."

"I BOUGHT 2 OF THESE TO USE FOR NOISE MAKERS AT FLORIDA PANTHERS HOCKEY GAMES. LET ME TELL YOU THEY ARE PRETTY LOUD. NO NEED TO REPLACE OR BUY AIR CANISTERS ALL YOU NEED IS ONE SQUARE 9 VOLT BATTERY FROM TIME TO TIME. THEY ALSO WORK GREAT FOR GETTING PEOPLE OUT OF BED IN THE MORNING. "This little hand held device is extremley more effective than a regular air blaster. People will hear this from a very long distance. It is very directional. Because of the unique noise people will turn there heads when they hear this and look your way in an emergency situation."
