"Excellent duster! I put this to the test with a pack trip that had me flying on horseback through the Rockies. Branches hit me and scraped along my jacket, I was in a heavy lightning storm that literally poured. This jacket was brutally put to the test and I survived without a scratch and completely dry underneath my jacket. Trust me it was an extremely rugged and brutal trip but a blast. This jacket is made to last and for heavy duty riding or labour. It also looks great. You will definitely not be dissapointed if you make this purchase. The only thing I would suggest is that a drawstring be put into the waist, I had one sewn in mine but it would have been nice if it just came that way. Anyway go ahead and make the purchase, its worth every penny!"

"The coat is very comfortable and warm. I also get many complaments on how it looks from freinds. The only things that I would change on it is, have a waste high draw string inside to trim the waste if needed, and the wool liner should be a tighter weave and less sheadable as far as wool hair. I had to use a lint brush to clean it off because it would cling to my clothes. But other than that I am very happy with the product."

"I bought this coat in the fall and regretted having gotten the liner because the weather was not cold enough for it. However, after a colder than normal winter I am so glad I got the liner. It does shed a little, but not too bad on mine. It is by far the best coat I've ever bought in my life. Perfect in rain, snow, sleet whatever. For me, this is the best coat ever."

"I purchased a short drover coat with the wool lining. I like the coat it is warm although the arms are not insulated. The lining does shed and it leaves wool on the coat itself and on your clothing. Don't wear a dark shirt under the wool liner. Overall I do like the looks of the coat."

"I was dissapointed to find out that Carhartt had discontinued it Cape coat. Seeking the same cut I chose the Outback Trading Company Short Lined Drover. The coat arrived in good condition but after closer inspection the liner was leaving micro wool fibers everywhere. Thinking this was leftovers from manufacture I vacuumed the liner only to discover the fibers are easily pulled from the backing. My yellow lab sheds less fur than this liner."

"The drover looks very nice, but I would say forget the liner. I had to take the time, about two hours, getting the wool off the drover, it was in the inside and outside of the drover so bad that it looked white, not black. I paid extra for the lining which now I will never use because of the wool coming off the liner onto the drover."

"I have owned several oilskin coats, full length for when riding and guiding in the mountains in Montana. Thjey have served their purpose and have performed remarkably well. This particular coat I just recently purchase that is lined is excellent for Alaska and it's weather here on the west coast. I haver not taken it hunting in the mountains yet, but in a couple of months will. Right now it's rainy and cool here and it's nice to be dry and warm. I think this coat is far more superior to others I have. I would recommend this coat for the serious outdoors person, male or female."

"In 2005 i purchased the long lined drover and was so happy with it's performance last winter that I purchased the short lined drover this summer to be prepared for this winter.The workmanship is excellent and the coats are incredibly warm and waterproof.i am fairly sure these will be the last coats i ever have to buy.The removeble liner makes these coats perfect for all weather."
