"Bought 2 sets on sale last summer to gift to two of my sons for Christmas. I was tired of using their dull knifes when we visit them. They both are very happy with their knife sets. They are quality and have a good balance when you use them. The only complaint I heard from one son is that he was not used to sharp knifes and he cut his finger. This set is an excellent Cabelas product. I recommend them to anyone in need of a good basic set that will handle all your kitchen needs."

"I have owned these knives for about a month now and they seem decent. I don't like how upright the block stands as it is impossible to retrieve a knife if you keep this block on your counter under the cabinets. You have to pull the block out from under the cabinet in order to get a knife out and then again to put it back. I also noticed the some of the brad's that secure the wooden handles stick out a little to far and catch dishclothes, skin, etc."

"overall we like the knife set, the only complaint so far is that the wooden handle on one of the knives sat in a puddle of water on the counter one afternoon and it swelled and now the handle has a kind of rough edge. That is our fault though and I think as long as you're careful, they would stay very smooth and pretty."

"I ordered these knives without consulting my wife. We have had an assortment of unmatched knives for years. I do most of the cooking and just got tired of not haveing the knife I wanted when I wanted it. With this set I have everything I need AND they really look good!! The wife didn't like them at first. They weren't her idea. After actually useing them two or three times she had to admit these are excellent knives. There are better knives out there, but they will cost two or three times what these do.
The only complaint I have is that they are a lot sharper then my old knives. I've cut myself a couple of times. Ouch!"

"A couple of these knives were pretty dull, which was really disappointing. It's good steel, so it took some work to put an edge on. Now we have a few that are getting small rust spots. I contacted Cabela's customer service and as always they are really good to work with and have a fantastic return/exchange policy for defective products. We'll be returning these in hopes of getting a quality set."
