Introducing fishing to a little angler,

"I just introduced my 9 year old grandson to fishing and had him experiencie catching three rainbow on his own. We all remember our first time and he now has the bug too. He loves his vest and wore it to school a couple of times and his mother claims he slept with it on the first night he got it. I now have a new fishing buddy."

Size way off,

"The vest is great but the size was way off. It fit our 5 1/2 year old fine, but was WAY TO SMALL for our 8 year old. We ordered the S/M size for both and if I did it again I would order the L/XL for both."

Child's Fishing Vest,

"I bought this vest not for fishing but to use as a weighted vest for my 5 year old son who needs occupational therapy for PDD. The vest arrived sooner than projected, and is very well made for the money. It was an excellent buy and an excellent subsitute for what I needed it for(weighted vest for kids cost anywhere between $150-200). The pockets were a great size for the weights and the back compartment was fantastic surprise; and the quality of the material was very good. Thank you Cabela's for stocking a product that was very hard to find(in terms of size) and sending it out promptly and efficiently. BTW, the on-line support chat tech were awesome too. I wish there was a Cabela's store in the NYC metro area."

Pockets are too small,

"Got this for my nine year old son. He's thrilled with it; makes him feel like a real flyfisher. It looks the part but the pockets are very small. None of my fly boxes will fit in any of the pockets. I realize that with a child's vest pockets need to be scaled down, but it would it would have been nice if at least one pocket had been sized to hold a medium sized fly box. I would recommend only because my son likes it and wearing it makes him want to go fishing."

"Thanks for this very fine children`s fishing vest! My son is 8 year old and he loves the vest which is a real vest- not only a look-a-like to the adult vests. Lots of real pockets for fishing gear and ... some candy too. The size is a little big for him now but he grows for every day.. and it is not too big for him."

"My 5 year old Grandson and 7 year old Granddaughter both received a youth fishing vest for Christmas as they both love creek fishing and camping along the White Oak Creek in Tennessee. My Grandson wore his vest for 8 straight days only removing it at night to go to sleep. He absolutely loved the vest and each pocket has something in it at all times."

"My son loved this vest because it looks identical to his Dad's. It has everything the adult vests have, which is good because he no longer wants anything that looks or feels "kiddie sized." It's also very functional.
The medium vest fits my (very) thin 8 year old well (but not tight), so buy big or buy adult if your child is bigger."

"Many times, when you come across the "kid's" version of an adult product , you end up with some cheap immitation and your child knows it. Not this time. The Youth Fly Fishing Vest by Willow Creek will not disappoint you or your child. Constructed with all of the integrity of the adult version. My son tells anyone who will listen, that he has a fly fishing vest "Just like my Dad's."And I kind of like that."
