"i used this on this years hunting trip. we took our deer from the thick brush and still it performed beautifully. my friend liked it so much he just bought one for himself. this is a great invention. i would make one change, or at least carry an extra few clips. we lost one wheel clips in the woods and didnt know until we got back to the truck. i call this my deer dolly."

"I received my cart prior to taking a vacation. I got to test it out that Friday after dropping an eight pointer in heavy cover. The cart was able not only to haul the load, but never once tipped over. I was surprised considering the density of underbrush in which I was using the cart. I wish however the the wheels were a little lighter since this appears to be where the bulk of the weight is located and a better way of securing the wheels when back packing. Overall I'm greatly satisfied with the product and would recommend to friends aand family"

"This product is well made and the idea of back packing into remote places and assembling the cart a good one. My problem is that for really big deer, you have a very hard time getting them on board. And if it is raining, everything gets caught up in the bicycle spoke wheels. It seems to work best for smaller doe size deer. It would not haul a 200 lb buck for me."

"Although I have not been able to actually use the cart I have noticed a couple of things. First one is that the wheels have on occassion fell out of the folded cart. I will have to devise some sort of retention system for them to prevent losing them in the woods. Second is the wheels themselves, they are WAY TOO HEAVY! It seems that 3/4 of the weight of the cart is in the wheels. Perhaps they could be something different then solid wheels. I will be working on finding replacments for them if possible."

"I am very pleased with my new game cart. I found it to be easy to assemble, and compact which makes it easy to cary in and out of the woods. It is a little heavier than I'd like, but I can live with that because it also is sterdy because of the weight. I would like to have some type of cover I could put over the wheels to keep debrie from getting in the spokes. Otherwise my overall assessment is very favorable, and I would recommend this product to my friends. I think it is a good product for the money. Ron"

"I am not the sportsman but my son is an avid hunter here in Maine. I purchased this product as a present based on the ratings of other sportsmen who have used the product. "I purchased the Ameristep Backpack Game Cart and would recommend it to any hunter as a MUST HAVE. Especially, if you hunt in an area that you take many deer or haul gear or food supplements a considerable distance. Once you get aquainted with the set up and tear down of the cart, you can move in and out of the woods with ease. The tires are hard and heavy and the axles fix tight and roll smooth through weeds and rough terrain. I keep a pair of pliers in the nap sack to take the cotter keys out of the wheel axles. They fit tight which is a good thing when pulling the wheels through high weeds. Buy one . You won't regret it."

"overall the cart is adequate. the fact that the pictures of the product shows a different type of spokes was a disapointment, since it wasn't an option. it shows up on your doorstep with thin bicycle spokes instead of the heavy cast spokes. i haven't been able to take it on rough terran to test it out completly but if they don't hold up i'm expecting money back."

"This game cart works well for the walkin hunter and handles game loaded on it very well. The only improvement that I would suggest is that the wheel assembly be made a little more field friendly. It is a little difficult to assemble the wheels in the dark especially when it is cold weather."

"Age and progressive arthritis has been making it difficult to get harvested deer out of the woods. I hunt state land where motorized vehicles of any sort are not allowed, During the Fall 2006 New York Archery Deer season, the portability of the Ameristep Game Cart enabled me to get my whitetail deer out of the woods in only twice the amount of time that it would take me to walk that 3/4 mile distance. I was able to haul the cart and deer over 8-10 inch diameter fallen tree logs and through wet terrain that was 4 inches deep in water without bogging down. Since I am already accustomed to carrying a portable treestand, clothing, and the day's provisions on my back, I found that weight of the backpackable cart was insignificant when going back in to retrieve my harvest. At the day's end, I had no strains or pains that I might associate with the effort required to manually transport a successful harvest out of the woods. And the deer arrived at my butcher clean, dry, and free of unwanted damage. This purchase will certainly add more good years to my deer hunting."

"I bought this to use for duck hunting since carring the all the gear was breaking my back! What attracted me was how compact it folded up. By the time I put my dog crate, decoys etc in the SVU there is not a lot of room left. It's lite and easy to carry however the handle is quite low so pushing it is not really an option which is discouraging."

"Upon receiving my gamecart found one of the wheels was warped. It was replaced with a new set of spoked wheels in short order. Something Cabela's has done consistantly when needed. The cart has been VERY versital in hauling out my first two deer this year AND works quite well for strapping on ladder stands and getting to their spot in the woods. The guys I hunt with have been impressed how it breaks down for backpacking, a feature I like as well, as I wear a backpack when deer hunting anyway. There is one thing I would add to the cotter pins on the wheels. That would be a "keyring" type ring so the pins are easier to pull out. If you have large fingers, cold hands etc, this would make it easier to work in the confined area and if dropped, would be easier to find. My experience with this product has been GREAT! I would recommend it to anyone and a few of my hunting partners have asked to borrow it....I tell them....GET ONE OF YOUR OWN---Cabela's sells them and it will be delivered to your home in a few days!!!! My compliments on a Great Addition to my deer hunting "Bag of Tricks". The guys get a kick out of all my "Stuff" to hunt deer with....I just laugh and say..."What ever makes it a little easier on this 'old hunter"!!! Thanks Again! The Cross Gobbler"
