"The plastic tab that lines up with the weight markings broke after 3 weeks of use, this piece should be made of tougher material. Now we have to look inside the slot and guess where the weight is."

"What a nice set-up! I'm a home butcher and I like to know the live weight of the animals that I slaughter and the carcass weight. This the perfect piece of equipment for this. The 4-part block and tackle lifts with ease and the scale has the sliding memory button on it to record the maximum weight-you don't even have to try and read the scale if you're by yourself-it does it for you. I wish I had this in some of the hunting camps that I've worked in, there would be no lying about how big the buck was and the hoist would make cleaning the animal a breeze. Every successful hunter needs to have at least the hoist to save their backs. It has a set of big hooks to attach it to a tree or a pole and the block is heavy-duty. Very useful combination-Thanks Cabela's"

Tractor battery removal device,

"As i grow older I find that i don't have the strength to lift out a lead-acid bettery at arms length from my Kubota tractor. Using this pulley set-up allowed me the remove and replace the heavy battery with one hand."

"The ony problem with the unit is that you have to add rope so that you can tie it off.
It needs to have a lock, just lilke a regular tackle block system."

"the scale works better without the bottom marker that stays in place and indicates the weight after the object being weighed is removed from the scale. we found that moving the bottom marker all the way to the bottom of the scale and leaving it there allows a more accurate weight, even though you have to read the scale while the object is still on it."

"This hoist and scale combo does a great job picking up those huge Illinois trophy whitetails. The only caveat is that due to the compound leverage provided by the multiple pulleys a great deal of rope is required to lift an object 8 feet off the ground."

"The hoist works well but says it has a 3/8 inch rope but it came with a 1/4 inch rope. A 3/8 inch rope will not work well due to its width."

"First rate quality product that makes it easy for the hunter when the hunt is over. Scales are straight forward and easy to use. Hoist would get 5 stars if the rope was longer. Hoist works great but for larger animals more rope is needed. This set up would work for hoisting out of a truck but not from ground level."

Years ago the only thing that was measured on a deer was it's rack. This is now a thing of the past. With wildlife topics such as QDM and Chronic Wasting Disease on the rise, what better way is there to manage and monitor your herd than by weighing each harvest you bring home. From small to big deer, Cabela's hoist system assists you with a generous 7:1 pulling ratio making even the largest deer easy to hang. Whether your deer is in the truck or on the ground, the hoist provides you with enough rope to bring the hoist down to the deer and not the deer up to the hoist. With a scale weight that reads up to 320 lbs, there will be no room left for embellishment at camp as to the size of that buck or large doe.
