"I read the reviews on this before I bought it, and although there were a lot of negative reviews I decided to take a chance with it. When it arrived I experienced the same problems as other people had with it, namely...only one of the two LED's would light up, if a tapped against my hand a few times real hard I could get it to work for a few minutes but then it would quit again. The batteries make a lot of noise too."

Good light but noisy batteries,

"I just tried out this light..If batteries last anywhere near the time they claim, this will be a 5 almost. Very bright light and heavy. Only thing I don't like is that when you carry it the batteries move around making noise in the case. It should be a tighter fit with less noise for the outdoors. Otherwise seems very durable. Other thing that's annoying is you have to make sure the cap is screwed down tight or the light will flicker on an off when you are walking. Fix these issues and a 5 awaits."

"I ordered this flashlight on June 2, 2009. So far the light has been great. Extremeley bright and no problems. Durable and seems to be well built. If it does last up to the 390 hrs on a set of batteries I will be really satisfied.
I would recommed this light to a friend."

"I was disappointed with this product. It would blink on and off with motion of the light. (Of course at the most inopportune times). I looked for loose parts but found none. I anticipate returning this product and will go with a mag-lite instead. This is most unusual for a Cabela's product but I still remain confident in their products and service. A first class outfit."

"The Cabela's Extreme 6 Watt LED flashlight is just what I was looking for. It puts out a lot of light enough for walking outside to see up to 100 feet with no problems. It is heavy enough to protect yourself from wild animals or other threats. The only thing is I hoped it would have the power switch for 1 led, 2 leds or off."

Good solid flashlight....but,

"I like the flashlight itself. Very bright light. It's heavy, but has a good solid feel. I haven't had it long enough to test the battery life, but if it does last as long as advertised it's worth it. It seems like most of the reviews will attest to the good battery life.
I just have two gripes. The case that comes with it is too small. I can just barely get the two pieces of velcro to meet. Clearly no attention to detail there. I'm a bit surprised because most Cabela's merchandise doesn't overlook things like this.
Also, the little black gasket on the bottom end was broken on one of the flashlights. (I bought two) I'm sure I can find a gasket at a hardware store for a couple of pennies. I guess something like that could just happen. So, I'm not too concerned about that. However, there is no excuse for the case. That is why I am giving it 4 stars. Otherwise it would be 5."

A good light but it may break,

"I use this light for night-time endurance racing once a year and love the run-time, the beam it projects and the theoretical durability of the L.E.D. bulbs but mine has broken after just one year. I learned about the light from other racers and have recommended it to more racers but I have a pal who also has a broken one. I would guess that this is at least a 20% failure rate for this group of people. I'm just glad it didn't break during the race."

"I knew this flashlight would be terrific but it is even better than I hoped! A super bright beam. It is a little heavier than I expected due to the batteries but overall I think it is great and am VERY pleased with this purchase.
I would recommend it highly to anyone who needs a tough, extremely bright flashlight."

"Great flashlight. However, the canvas carrying case dosen't accomodate the size of the flashlight. The overall case is too short/small. The velcro flap cannot fasten shut. In my case, the carrying case is useless."

"Product appears to be well made. Projected light is good but not as strong as I anticipated for the size of the light. Is good for general use but somewhat heavy to carry in a pack and as I wanted to use this mainly for hunting I was slightly disappointed with the product."

"I was very surprised at how bright it is for the battery life. I would have given it 5 stars but you have to wrap duct tape around the batteries to keep it from rattleing. We hunt in Grizzly country and it's nice to know your batteries aren't going to die in an hour!!!!"

"This is certainly the flashlight of the future. I was amazed at the light output of this thing as compared to my other LED flashlights, no comparison. Though the beam isn't adjustable it has a nearly perfect blended beam that is good for long distances and up close. Plus, no more "holes" in the light beam that I was so used to in regular flashlights.
Here are the things I liked:
- Very Bright
- Uses "D" batteries, that, when mixed with LED's make a very useful flashlight, as it can get you through a real emergency without the batteries dying.
This flashlight is the only one I've ever owned that is the useful tool that I've always needed."
