"I have several Pelicans. They range from the PC Briefcase up to the large trunk-like model. All are very strong and well-made. This case is no different. The only (minor) shortcoming is that the one or more of the latches, although quite well-protected, have become unlatched in transit. It's only happened a couple of times and I've no idea how."

Pelican two rifle gun case,

"The Pelican is a very good case, offering more than enough protection for transporting firearms between home and camp. Pelican says you can use the case as delivered, without cutting the foam to custom fit your rifles. However they suggest that custom fitting offers the best protection for your firearms. I custom fit mine by outlining the firearms and scopes and cutting about a quarter inch inside the lines. Make sure the knife is quite sharp, be VERY careful and take your time. Not something to rush. Check the internet for other suggestions on custom fitting the Pelican's foam to your firearms.
Pelican also recommends using silica gel in the case (due to the open cell foam, I believe). I have an older Cabela's Bullet Proof aluminum case with closed cell foam, and prefer it to the Pelican because of the great protection it offers and because of the moisture issue. I rate the Cabella's Bullet Proof first and the Pelican a close second."

"Excellent gun case, very easy to get around with the wheels - but the best part is you can use your own locks. I had a very good case but the locks and closures were very poor. Key was like for a child's treasure box--- and if that breaks during a trip you have a large problem."

"this was an awesome buy...used it to travel to wyoming...had the double case, carried .270 and 7mm-08 plus some extra stuff and it arrived in both directions with no movement of stuff at all...granted, i may have to get another foam insert to travle with other guns if they don't exactly fit the mold...but well worth it..."

"I had high hopes for this case, I bought it to protect my shotgun3 during a trip to Argentina, from Denver, I had 2 flights with 2 different airlines in each direction so the guns were going to get allot of handling. To make a long boring story short, I am glad that TSA made me install paddle locks, as when I got to Argentina and back to Denver 3 of the 4 locking devices were open. without the paddle locks the guns probably would have fallen out

"I use my AR on duty, so I needed a hard case to protect it while it is in the trunk. The pelican case is extremely durable and I am able to store the rifle in the trunk without worrying about damage. The foam inserts ensure the rifle does not move around and protects my expensive optics. I can also store the rifle in a way which makes it possible for rapid deployment. This case is a must have for law enforcement officers!!!"

Built tough... but tough means heavy,

"I got this pretty fast and at a good shipping rate. The case is nice and tough, holds two long guns well and you could fit some ammo or maybe pistols too. Has wheels for easy moving.
One downside to the heavy duty aspect means the case is heavy and can be awkward because of the width. Even loaded with just my shotgun its rather heavy. But its got wheels which is good. In some cases the weight is not a problem, in some it might be.
Only thing I dont like is the lock holes. There is some metal around the hole to increase its protection from thieves, however the metal around the hole is not substantial."
