"purchased expedition c (same basic unit) for fishing not a good buy. base map is inadequate, color screen hard to see in daylight , extremely hard to use (not user friendly), have to pay extra for mapping software and it is highly inaccurate as well for the money i would go with a garmin."

Good while it lasted.,June 16, 2009
By Portagefrom Indiana
"Loved this GPS for the first year. Then the satilites quit picking up. Doesn't look like I'm the only one with this problem. Costs about as much as a new unit to have it looked at so I guess it's toast."

Disappointed,June 15, 2009
By USCGCWOfrom Northern WI
"This is my second unit, and its been very problematic. Tried everything to get it to lock on including downloading new software, hard and soft reset, and initializing it. Loses the signal and wont re-acquire until it's been off for awhile. Just got off the phone with Lowrance, and they recommended buying a new one, as it's out of warranty. You almost have to buy a new one if you've invested in any accessories."

Nice untill it fails,June 8, 2009
By GoingFishingBass
"Display can't be read in the sun, backlight must be on.
It worked well for 18 months, 140 hours of usage as per internal timer. The nice display started to blink when GPS is exposed to the sun or warmer temperature (75 deg.). Cost of repair is too high, then the solution is to buy a new one. The problem is that maps (topo and lake) are not compatible with other brands of GPS. i would consider to buy a new Lowrance GPS only to be able to use my expensive maps.
Like i saw in other review : I guess these are throw-away products if they fail."

H20c,May 14, 2009
By NashotahEdfrom Nashotah, Wi
"Yes I own the H20color and it was a great little unit. I have experimented with different lake cards which added another $200 to the cost of the unit. Then their is the Ram mount for the ATV if you plan to go ice-fishing. By the time you buy all the extras the H20c will cost you over $500 then it will only work for about 2 years before the reciever won't lock up enough satelites to function. Lowrance wants $149 plus $12.95 shipping to repair it. If you have money to burn, buy it. It was a great GPS until it became a very expensive handheld map."

great product----when it works,April 2, 2009
By alaskafishfrom Alaska
"I've had a H2Oc for three years, which I used for fishing in Alaska and Washington. Great product for marking fish locations, as well as routes to get there. Then one day I turned it on, and it would no longer lock onto satellites. Lowrance cust. service wants $150.00 flat fee to look at it, but recommended I wait until June for the next generation to arrive in stores and buy a new one. So I guess these are throw-away products if they fail."

Great addition,March 9, 2009
By Hector06from Swan's Island, Maine
"I bought this GPS mainly for ice fishing and used it the first time at a derby. With a chip for lakes I was able to drive to the shoals with ease. It has a nice size screen and runs a long time with two AA batteries. It also was easy to learn how to run. I did have to go out and buy a case for it, but that was minor."

SD Chip,March 5, 2009
By plizbarnfrom Traverse City, Mich
"Bought my H2O and I couldn't set the GPS up with the Hot Maps chip in it. I tried to remove the chip with the directions supplied in the manual. The chip would not come out. A friend and I played with the chip for an hour before we decided to pull on it as hard as we could. Of course this bent the pins up that the chip was stuck on. Now the GPS, 2 days old, is in the service department of Lowrance. The GPS set up great without the chip but not with the Hot Maps chip in it. Very disappointing."

Excellent GPS,December 15, 2008
By Dolphin2from VA
"I use it primarily for fishing in saltwater where finding the shortest distance between two points can save a lot of gas. It is easy to use and it has the channel markers and artificial reefs on the screen. I'll use it in freshwater also to come back to a good fishing spot in the middle of the lake. I really like this GPS."

IfinderPro, H2O and H2OC,November 3, 2008
By Cabbryfrom Omaha NE
"I would not recommend any Lowrance GPS product at this time. My Ifinder Pro GPS failed twice and I am on 3rd unit with one $130 repair cost. Bought an H2OC to replace it. I am on second H2OC replacement costing $149 this time minimum flat fee to fix it. Bought an H2O for trip still waiting for Lowrance repair of H2OC and it failed to work RIGHT out of the box. Lowrance XOG car UPS failed 1 week after using. Lowrance X50 which came on boat failed twice. Cabela's was great on their end but should completely discontinue Lowrance products as they are no longer the quality they once were."

ifinder h2o c,August 21, 2008
By jimbotx2
"My unit does not deliver. It is beautiful, the software is great, the downloaded maps have wonderful detail, but the unit is nearly useless as a tool to find where you are or where you want to go. It takes forever to find a lock, if it ever does. Once it finally finds your position , it will not maintain it for any useful length of time. In hot Texas weather, it will not find position at all, will not find a lock under the thinnest of canopy. Lowrance's service is poor. They want a flat $150.00 just to look at the unit. It's only a little more than 1 yr old. The card reader for the software works only on an intermitant basis, the 12v power plug will not work inside a hot automobile, I am disappointed, to say the least with the quality of the Lowrance electronic products. I would not buy another one."

Not as good as I hoped,July 16, 2008
By trophyfishfrom North Dakota
"The details with the Navionics Card is excellent. However, I am disappointed with the display itself. The H2O C has a dark screen and can be difficult to see at times, especially if the GPS is mounted in a position where a shadow is cast upon it. I usually have to have the background light on in order to get good clarity.
I previously had a Global Nav 212 and in display comparison the old Global Nav was 300% better. I have tried mounting in different areas where shadows are not cast upon the unit."

iFinder H2O,July 7, 2008
By vtfinnfrom Essex, VT
"I have been pleased with the iFinder H2O. It locks on quickly and has been useful for fishing. The menus take some getting used to and there are many options and features yet to be tried. Batteries last about 11-12 hours. I currently use Hot Maps in addition to the pre installed maps. I am looking forward to using it for hunting...I will purchase topo software for it in the near future."
