Good Vest,October 30, 2009
By L8seasonducksfrom Chanhassen, MN
"I recently had the chance to hunt with this strap vest and it worked well. It holds plenty of shells in the loops and pockets, fits well over lots of clothes or just a light jacket. I'm also looking forward to taking it dove hunting next year. It does sit a little low if you're standing in deeper water or kneeling on a bog as we were last weekend. the game carrier does drain well if you do go deeper than you'd like (but it's better than soaking your jacket). This drainage could also be a drawback if your pouch contains bloody game. I use a game strap. The pockets are soft and warm which is great for me as I don't wear gloves when calling birds. Good product. 4 out of 5 because of the length but that is a minor drawback. Good product at a good price."

Darn good product for price,October 29, 2009
By Windrowfrom Volta CA
"This is a fit and finish review-- not a field report.
I really liked this vest all around but had two issues. The straps have a slick finish (somewhat like a nylon rope) and so tend to slip a bit. I wouldn't go to far as to sand but will need to rough up to hold your settings when loaded up.
Lots of room in pockets; easy to adjust to your hang length preferences. Stout buckle. Game bag hangs below waist so if you can fill it you can't sit on truck seat unless you want pressed duck.
Shell loops are six a side and on outside of pocket. I would have liked a second row under the flap, better two rows under flap. Wetting promotes 'garage rot' on the brass.
But for a lack 'o loops would give it five stars."

Great for the layout blind hunter,September 22, 2009
By ljhglkhgfrom Manitoba, Canada
"Love this vest.. I won't hunt any birds without it now..
Great for the layout blind hunter too, as there are no shells in the rear of it like a shell belt digging into your back. I lay back and when time comes to shoot and reload its an easy affair... and I can even take a sec to transfer more shells from the zippered top pockets into quickly emptying shell loops. This thing holds a couple of boxes of shells, a couple of calls, truck keys etc, etc with ease and doesn't bulk up badly because of it.
I even tucked extra gloves and hat for my kid in the game bag... (it was clean.. ;) )
Invaluable tool!"

Wet try out,September 16, 2009
By halhfrom New Orleans,LA
"Teal opener here in the Guf Coast was wet.Very wet. Also very hot. I used the strap vest which had arrived the day before opening day just as I was leaving for the lodge. Opening morning rain and more rain. I wore the vest over my waxd cotton gear and the strap adjustments were great. I did not need the nice hand warmer pockets yet but was happy to find that after several hours in steady rain they remained dry. This is a great product and a bargain at the price. It can be comfortably worn over light clothes in hot conditions or over your many layers and bulky winter wear in late season. I would recommend this vest to any waterfowl hunter in any climate."

great vest,March 24, 2009
By bigwaveshbfrom huntington beach ca
"i bought this vest but not for water fowl. i actually bought it for more upland game and dove hunting in the sweltering heat in the imperial valley. i had my tailor pull the insulation out of the pockets and resew it. the light weight and little material covering the body made it perfect for high temps. i had no problems with it, great vest. bigwaves h.b"

Duck Hunter Extreme,December 3, 2008
By Steven44305from Akron, Ohio
"Nice vest. It makes hunts easy to prepare for as I leave the vest fully loaded and ready to throw on. Fits nicely over my Cabela's Ultimate Hunting Chest Waders. Only issue is my 3 1/2 inch mags are somewhat loose fitting in the shell holders. Haven't lost any shells yet but it is a concern when crawling around the marsh trying to blind side some greenheads. I have to keep eye on the shells and push them back down in the loops once it awhile to secure them. Despite that, I use it every hunt."

Best Hunting Vest I've Owned,October 29, 2008
By Prunetuckianfrom Ca
"This is the best hunting vest I've owned. I have always had problems with shells falling out of other vest when I bend over to pick up game and with being able to carry enough shells for a lengthy trek on a hunt. This vest keeps the shells secure and I can carry two or three boxes of shells with ease. It's comfortable, heavy duty, distributes the weight well and the hand warmer pockets are a big plus on those crisp fall mornings."

Vest,October 28, 2008
By Brandon2
"The vest worked well for me. It has pleant of pockets for all of your equipment and drains if you are in water above your waist. The only complaint I have with it is the large strap along with the strap for my waders got in the way some while shooting."

Avery Strap Vest,October 28, 2008
By Pokey00from Minnesota
"I like the concept. I had to return the item because it was to small. One size does not fit all. More in the length of the shoulder straps, should have had more length. Side pockets were to small also for one with large hands. If it fits, I think it is a good item for hunting with light equipment."

Good vest,October 27, 2008
By RaftCaptMarkfrom Florida
"Good vest for the money. Not to big like a turkey vest. Perfect for holding a box of shells, calls, and a couple personal items. Room for a bottle of water in the game bag. Material seems strong. I used it for dove and will soon be using it for duck."

A must have in the marsh,September 23, 2008
By chocolabhunterbuddyfrom Alberta, Canada
"I bought this product because I hunt alot of water and I never had enough readily available pocket space for my ammo.I now have just that! I can move around a bit without having to grab a seat or bag. This is (I believe) a better alternative than a shell vest and there are hand pockets that keep my hands toasty warm without having to wear gloves(which was often a problem while standing in water and trying to quickly reload...dexterity suffered.) I can carry a couple boxes of shells and a few extras in the back game pouch. The vest is easy to slip on and off, yet stays secure and does not hinder the shouldering of my gun. I love this product....."

Avery Vest,September 17, 2008
By LifeTimeOutdoorsManfrom TX
"Not so Great , I purchased this strap vest to stay ventilated but found out that the game pouch is made of nylon instead of mesh and it gets hot!! if you plan to use it in cold weather I guess it’s a decent vest for the price. I should have spent a bit more money and got a nicer vest ... ...."

BLoodproof?,December 18, 2007
By drecksdadfrom Idaho
"I have owned one of these vests for three years now and the only complaint I have is that there are drain holes in the game bag that allow blood to flow out covering anything you happen to set this on. The bag itself is not blood proof either. I use it waterfowling and have blood stains in my suburban and pickup from times I jumped into the vehicles in a hurry while forgetting to remove the vest, or from places I set the vest down. I now line the bottom of the game bag with a plastic trashbag and it works fine. Otherwise, product is stout, well made and worth the money."
