Foiles Strait Meat Mallard,
August 4, 2009
By sylriv

"I have ordered specificaly the blue/clear call in order to have a single read call. As showed in the desciption on the web site:
Colors/Models: Blue/Clear Mallard(Single Reed) Cocobolo/Smoke(Single Reed) Advantage MAX-4 HD®(Single Reed) Bourbon/Water(Double Reed) Smoke(Double Reed) Smoke/Advantage MAX-4 HD®(Single Reed).
I have received a double read... This is my first double read. The sound is good but wondering if it will stick more than a single reed when the cold weather arrive?? My number one call is still the dead meat from Foiles. So for the product I will give 4 stars but for Cabelas this time I will give them only one star.
Good hunting!"

"This is by far the best duck call ever to hit the market.. I've had many cheap calls but none of them work as well as my strait meat mallard. To put it simple its the first call I reach for when I see ducks!!!! Buy a great call, buy the strait meat mallard."

REALISTIC,
October 22, 2008
By DuckhuntOneidaLake

"This call is by far and away the most realistic sounding duck call I have owned in almost 20 years of duck hunting. At first I hesitated on the price, but you truly get what you pay for. I now own the Strait Meat Mallard, Strait Meat Honker and the Timber Rattler. All calls are wonderful.
Ducks toll to this single reed call."

striaght meat mallard calls.,
September 8, 2008
By Abbythelab
from Duckbandit, CA
|
"This is one of the best calls I have owned. This call is easy to blow for an advanced caller. It has a crisp sound and it has a wide range of tone from the high ball to those real hen sounds. It has good volume in double reed and in single its much lounder. All around this is a great call as are all the Foiles creations. I would also recommed Foiles instructional DVD and CD to get the most out of the call."

Great call and highly recommend to anyone!,
August 10, 2008
By ROYW94

"I have had many calls over the years and have a memorial cabinet to prove it. With over 50 calls that I have retired ranging in price from $20-$130. I have to say Foiles makes the best in my opinion. I have some of the best calls in the "retirement home" because realism is what kills ducks NOT anything else. I have to dissagree with the negative reviews that has been left over this call because of the fact I have 2 of these strait meat mallard calls and I have no problem knocking those greenheads off. I am here to tell you that foiles calls are the best out there hands down. Its not the call, BUT rather the caller that has problems with this call. It will go from a very loud highball to a very soft chuckle and a very convincing quack. Over 220 greenheads fell to this call last year alone......Now I am here to tell you this is a "STRAIT MEAT" call hands down."

Foiles Straight Meat Mallard,
February 8, 2008
By DuckHuntinOhio
from Ohio
|
"I have used acrylic calls from lots of maker including Zink and have switched all my calls to Foiles exclusively as I have found them to fit my style of calling better than the others. These calls are easy to master even for a beginner and produce very realistic natural sounding tones but will scream a high ball at distant birds when needed."

From High to Low...it's got Range,
January 29, 2008
By HuntTheWest
from Chandler, AZ
|
"If you're a serious duck caller or duck call operator (one with more than just a tiny bit of experience) you'll appreciate what this call offers. This call has super tone and great range...from way up high (hail calls) to way down low (feed chuckles) this call can carry the range. The call is well designed and fits your lips well without any tight edges. I like this call for open water/fields. I'd switch to the Timber Rattler if I was huntin' in the woods or if I wanted a quieter call. This call is probably not the first call a new duck caller should buy but it might just be the last one you'll need. If you blow a call and it sounds like something that a coyote wants to eat then you need to go back and learn the basics and you can do that on an inexpensive polycarbonate call. If you've got a good teacher/coach even a beginner can pick up this call."

SMM Call,
January 15, 2008
By Gibbs
from Sacramento, CA
|
"Great call that sound very much like the Timber Rattler. Prefer the single reed over the double because the double reed sticks after about 15 minutes of use. Who has time to wipe the reeds with a dollar bill when the ducks are bombing in? :) Get the single reed and you will be happy!"

By Bradisme

"This call sounds great but the reed sticks so bad it is useless. Locked up every time I tried to use it. I tried every trick in the book to get it to stop but no luck. If your like me you need a call to work when you need it. There are no returns on calls so don't waste your money."

Get what you get,
December 22, 2007
By MallardMaster
from Nebraska
|
"A lot of people say you get what you get and you dont throw a fit, so if you do not get this call you wont have to throw a fit. I am 14 years old and I was duck hunting in the best spot in Nebraska and I had this call and all it did was call A bunch of coyote in and make the thousands of Mallards that were coming in go away. They should make this call a coyote call not a duck call."
