"This call is awesome, it's cost is good and it sounds great. I read all of the reviews before I bought mine, and they can make you second guess yourself, but after getting mine I'm glad I did it is what I was looking for with out braking the bank. Yes, it is a little bit high pitched yet you can get it down low enough, and if they flair because it is to high they should have already been droped. I'm a novice hunter who always had used a flute call and this is my first short-reed, it dose take a little bit to get used to but practice always makes things better. Lock'um up and nock'um down"

"Just got my Meatgrinder in the mail today. I would give it 10 stars but there are only 5. Ive had other goose calls of all makes and models, this one is by far the easiest to blow and sounds great. I would recommend this to any goose hunter from a beginner to an experienced caller."

"Great call - easy to blow with crisp breaking points. Good call for beginner or as a secondary call for lessers (kind of high pitched - cannot achieve wide tone range without taking call apart to adjust reed.)"

"I bought this call not being able to blow a short reed. I had a Buck Gardner Candian Hammer 2 but couldn't get a good sound out of it. So I bought a Foiles Meatgrinder. Within 2 hours i had good honks and clucks out of it. I highly reccomend this call for a beginner."

"I have a MeatGrinder and a Foiles Showtime call, and belive it or not, the MeatGrinder is easier to use, and is low toned and raspy. It is well worth the money for the call. It does take a little work as it is a short reed call, however, for the experienced caller, this will be no problem."

"This call is the eaisiest blowing short reed out there. Great for newcomers who are learning to blow a short reed. Easy to reproduce those goosey sounds. Also has a great price on it."
"I purchased this call with little experience calling waterfowl. At first it was very difficult to use as I had never used a short reed, I had only used a flute call. However, with some practice and learning the basics of how to use a short reed, I picked up calling in no time.
I also purchased the Art to Calling Waterfowl dvd from Primos. After watching the dvd a few times, I had all the basic calls--honk, cluck, moan, and comeback call down. Within aobut a week I started getting into the more advanced calls like the double cluck and so forth.
On the negative side I have found that the low end of the call is hard to pick up and the call can also be fairly inconsistent. Sometimes it will not break right unless I force a large amount of pressured air through it.
All around I give this call 4 out of 5 starts. By no means is the a beginners call, but I would now no longer call myself a beginner. Good Luck"

"This call is definately not made for the beginner that wants to learn to blow a short reed! I have had this call for one year, have watched several learning videos and religiously listen to the Foiles cd in the car to the pooint where my wife doesn't want to drive with me, but I can not get this call to work the way it should. I find this call takes a lot of air and carries some very rouge pitches that are not goosie at all. I am not saying it is a bad call; perhaps I am just a bad caller, but I purchased this because reviews stated it was one of the easier short reeds to use. After one year and a lot of practice, I disagree. I have tried a couple higher end short reeds that did work better for me and I have also tried one that was much worse, being the H.S., which I hope no one tries to learn on."

"This call really brings them Canadas in. You can use it for everything long hail calls, and short growling calls. When i received it i had a pro staffer tune it for me. After that it worked like a champ. Highly recommended for an intermediate to advanced caller, and it is very inexpensive too."
