"I found that the Strait meat goose call was an easy call to use. It sounds very realistic and I had good results using it. You can use the call to make all goose sounds from the hail to the feeding chuckle I simply found this call to be amazing. In the past I have used a variety of calls with mediocre results. Right out of the box the strait meat honker was tuned to perfection and sounded awesome. I would recmmend this goose call to all serious goose hunters."

"Having decided to purchase a good goose call I settled on the SMH after reviewing countless websites and reviews. I am very satisfied with this call. Being totally new to short reed calls I was expecting some serious practice time before seeing any results. This call is so easy to use I had the basic sounds figured out in the first session. This was thanks to various instructional videos to be found on the internet as well as the easy blowing qualities of this call. You do not have to use much air pressure to get really clear, loud clucks, moans and honks. Being new to short reed calls I can only give my impressions as a new user but I couldn't be happier! The first trip out after a couple weeks of practice saw me finishing a couple birds right into the decoys so I guess something must be working right. I would highly recommend this call to other first time users."

"With this call you get what you pay for. Like others I had purchased many cheaper calls with mediocre results. After reading reviews and doing a little homework I bought the Strait Meat Honker along with the instructional video, which I also highly recommend and after about a month of calling everyday I'd have to say the geese should be scared come Sept. I also had an issue with the out of the box tone, sent the call to Foiles directly got it back within 5 days, and tuned to perfection. Great call, great customer service, and great times ahead."

"This is a great call. I've always been a flute caller and wanted to have a short reed to be able to do more things with a goose call. My friends and brother have many different short reeds and the strait meat is by far the easiest to learn. After a short while I can make all the basic calls and sound great. Still working at getting better will the double clucks and all that, but as far as ease for basic calls you can't find a better call. Whether you are new to short reeds or been calling for a while, you need to get a Foiles Strait Meat Honker."

"I was relunctant to pay a lot for a call, now I know why they are such a high price. I did a lot of reviewing what others had to say and now I know why they said what they said. "I have been calling geese for over 20 years! I own over 20 Sean Mann calls that are great. BUT like a shotgun, all calls are different. Mann calls need more air than a Zink or Foiles calls. The Foiles call sounds great and is VERY EASY TO CALL. Even if you have called other calls for years try this one. This is a champion quality call that sounds great. Less air = easier and faster calling. I know own 2 of these calls. I was able to teach a friend how to cluck and grunt in 10 min! He has never blown a call. He can now go into the field and make noise that will not scare the geese away~!!!!"

"I went from a Sean Mann flute to this call hoping to become a better goose caller and the Straight Meat Honker delivered. This call is awesome! You can call large flocks of Canada geese without the fear of hyperventilating. You need very little air to make this call sing. From clucks to growls to comeback calls, this one delivers every time with no concern of sticking. I have a Foiles Timber Rattler and it has a tendency to stick especially when it is cold but the Straight Meat Honker NEVER has. You cannot go wrong with this call."
