Gets the job done, but paint job is less than real,
November 23, 2009
By EsqEB
from Prairie Village, KS
|
"I really like the ide behind having a feeding duck quivering and shaking out in my spread and it does a good job of keeping movement in my deeks. However, the paint job looks and wears kind of like cheap paint, hence the 4 stars."

"I bought one of these a year ago and loved it so much i just bought another one to add to my spread this season. The decoy makes ripples on the water up to 20 feet all around it and lasts all day. Great decoy!"

No ring to attach cord!,
September 20, 2009
By Wldthing

|
"I bought one of these on sale last year at the Rogers store and it works surprisingly well to add some ripples on dead calm days. Use good batteries and shake them to get them to quiver before setting them into the water (do not toss.) But the latest one I ordered from the website had NO LOOP to attach a weight and cord to! Some sort of factory glitch I guess. Rather than pay postage to send it back I used superglue and attached one of my own. Kind of disappointing."

Sometimes a little is all you need,
September 16, 2009
By WingBlaster

"I use these blocks to add just a little more realistic motion in the spread.
Don't expect them to whip up a froth of feeding frenzy action in your set up. It's more of a subtle (realistic) feeding motion that helps fill in around your center field landing zone.
They are not overly tough, but they are not something that needs to be totally pampered in the field. I simply keep a six pack in a seperate bag and deploy as needed."

Not a good idea,
December 6, 2008
By Boondocker99

"I bought one of these duck butts a month or so ago. It worked great the first time out and even the second time out. On the third time out the butt stoped working. It looks like the seal on the bottom doesnt work very well. The movement was great in the spread, I just expected it to work a little longer than three days. Try a different product!"

Not bad so far,
October 14, 2008
By duckmanforever

"I have used the 2 Butts now 4 times on the lake. They have the best presentation when there are no waves. We really liked the butts on a calm still day they added some nice waves to the presentation next to the weeds. We use 2 together and so far we have talked about getting 2 more to help on the calm days. We don't turn them on when there are waves it just doesn't add anything. I would recommend getting at least 2 to put together."

not good,
August 16, 2008
By sclin

"I hunted over a pair of these last year. They gave minimum vibration and I could only tell that they were moving if the water was dead calm. In fact the vibration was so minimum that the water would freeze around them. When I was really cold in the late season we had to shake them to get them to start moving. They are too heavy to carry to the bling for the impact that they had made on my spread."

Quiver Butts Work,
February 20, 2008
By phqnkmj
from North Carolina
|
"Bought 2 Quiver butts for my spread and they work really well. I hunt alot in beaver swamps so I really don't get much decoy motion from the wind like you would on a lake or a sound. However, you really need more than one, especially if you're hunting big water. One just doesn't put out enough ripples, not even for my small swamp spread. As far as other peoples battery issues, I bought some of the Energizer rechargeables with high the highest maH's I could find. They'll last 6 or 7 hours, and of course I can just re-charge. If you don't get rechargeable batteries you're gonna be buying batteries for every hunt. All in all I think it's a good product."

not much shake,

By stinkfoot

"This doesn't put out much commotion, nowhere near what I was hoping. It really just kind of gently vibrates on the water. The on-off switch is difficult to use and I couldn't tell if the thing was on or off on many occasions. Next season, I'll do it the old-fashioned way: with a jerk cord."

Quiver if you can?,
January 21, 2008
By chocolabhunterbuddy
from Alberta, Canada

"I was a little disappointed in this product! These quiver butts were a lot of work to dry out and get ready every morning during my fall hunt and quite often the batteries would fall out before you could place it in the water. The duck butt had to be placed ever so carefully in the water or the batteries fell out again! There was some water in the battery housing every night and drying was a must. There was no place to attach the weight and the string on the decoy quite often got tangled. All in all I gave up in the end and started leaving them at home! I will say this however, if you can get the batteries to stay in they butts, they do create movement in the spread; so if you hunt in an area where water movement is a must(little wind) these may be worth the effort? But not quite sure about the money!"
