Steiner Wildlife Binocs,December 3, 2008
By Fshcrvrfrom Virginia, Chesapeake Bay area
"I use them in all hunting situations. I really bought them for bow hunting. They have already saved several button heads lives! They are light and with a guide harness you don't even know they are on. Very clear and crisp. As to be expected, with the size of the objective, they do not gather great quanities of light as the sun sets. The price and clear picture make them well worth it."

Steiner Wildlife Binoculars not good,August 18, 2008
By 6by6elkfrom Denver, Colorado
"I would not recommend these for anything other than very close, very bright viewing conditions. I wanted them for Elk hunting because they were light and small and I pack in pretty far for hunting, however they are horrible for hunting, the light that is allowed in is inadequate, and the focus of them isn't good enough to even tell a Bull's rack at over 150 yds! I have the Steiner Merlins and they are outstanding! Definitely spend the extra $ and go with the Merlins if you want quality glasses!"

Great value,May 18, 2008
By HighlandBowhunterfrom Virginia
"I have been using these since last fall and they are superb. They are lightweight, clear, and easy to focus. I carried them throughout spring gobber season when I would have left a heavier pair at home."

waterproof?,December 13, 2007
By 6ducklindyfrom wisconsin
"I would definitely question Steiners claim of waterproof. First pair I bought I used in a light rain bowhunt, both lenses fogged. I sent them in to be serviced, and they sent me a new pair. 2 months later hunting in a wet snow, same thing happened. Make sure you know what your conditions will be, and what you want out of your binos. What is waterproof if they cant withstand inclement weather."

Steiner's in Iraq,May 15, 2007
By LarryABfrom Colorado
"During a recent conversation with my son (soldier in Iraq), he requested a pair of small binoculars for use on his daily patrols (they only had one pair of military binoculars in the platoon). I did not want to waste a lot of time shopping so I purchased a pair of these glasses sight unseen (only used other reviews on the internet). Since then my son has said that he uses them everyday and that they are very light and provide excellent vision with a good field of view; he is really happy with them. Thank you Steiner for protecting my son."

Excellent optics,November 22, 2006
By redfishnfrom Western Washington
"These binoculars are very light weight and compact making them unburdensome in the field. They are quick and easy to focus with an exceptional degree of clarity. Though having only a 28mm objective lens, they pull in as much light as larger lenses on lesser quality binocs."

Steiner 8.5X26 Wildlife binos,November 20, 2006
By tzahoyfrom Northern California
"I kept these for a day and returned them, here's the good and bad:
Color and sharpness were excellent. Brightness was very good for a compact binocular. Construction was very sturdy. I really liked these alot.
The bad point which to me became unforgivable was glare and reflections internally when used in bright sunlight. The resulting haze around the edges of view and artifacts floating around were so distracting I decided to return them."
