"I am shooting 350grain XTPs out of a white mountain carbine 1:20, this loads them perfectly. No messing up the hollow point ends... I also have one on my CVA accura that I am shooting TC Shockwave sabots from. It works great on those as well.
I like the fact that you don't have to take it off and replace it with a cleaning tip, I just use this tip for loading and cleaning. Holds patches great. No lost patches, no bullet marring. And, it's well made. Be carefull though, if you get it on real tight, and try to remove it by hand. You will probably cut yourself. The edges are pretty sharp, but that's what holds the patches on so good.
I would also recomend putting one of these on the end of your T-style bullet starters if you use one."

"This is a must for any polymer tipped bullet and sabot combination. It prevents deformation and ensure that your bullet has the opportunity to be on target. The threads on it at 10/32 so if your muzzleloader ramrod threads are 8/32 then you'll need an adapter, but its well worth the extra 10 bucks"

"IN A NUT SHELL! If you shoot an bullet in your muzzleloader other than a round ball, you need to use a ramrod tip that matches the shape of your bullet. It's no different than using the correct one in your reloading dies. The Hornady perfectly matches the Hornady 250 grn. SST bullet. It ensures centering of the bullet in the barrel without damaging your sabot prior to shooting. You surely know the stress that your sabot goes through when fired. If it is even slightly damaged during loading and your bullet's tip is bent or flattened and not perfectly centered, your bullet won't have a chance to recover and you can't expect the upmost accuracy from your rifle. A lot of chatter here but don't blame your rifle for your mistakes."
