Not recommended,November 19, 2009

"I purchased the Alaskan Guide 3.5-10x40 scope two years ago. This year when I rotated the power adjustment, the crosshairs rotated also. Now I need to try to find a place that may fix it, problem is, I don't even know the name of the manufacturer."

Alaskan Guide Premium Scope,November 18, 2009
By Rawhide435from Utah
"Want a scope that will WOW you with clarity and useability! Save your hard earned money and purchase the Alaskan Guide Pro Series scopes. It will drive tacks at 100yds. Shooting a 308 with this scope with .58 moa or less consistently. You can spend extra money but you will not find a better scope for the $$$$."

Alaska Guide Scope,September 8, 2009
By dlkittefrom New Mexico, Hunter, Nuclear weapons specialist
"I've always been a Leupold man, but decided to give the Cabela's Alaska guide scope a chance on my 22.-250 Remington 700VS. It has proven to be a great scope that maintains its settings and has optics as good as Leupold! I still like Leupold, but for the price and quality this scope is great. I don't know who really makes this scope, but I highly recommend it. My most important requirement is that the scope retain its settings, and so far it has. I've owned this scope for about 5 years and its helped dispatch a lot of PDs!"

Problem with Windage and Elevation Adjustment,August 16, 2009
By hunt4successfrom Port Matilda, PA
"Out of the box, I was certain I had made the right selection for a scope. The clarity was great, looks were great when mounted on the rifle, and was a reasonable price. However, when shooting in at the range I was having serious trouble making the windage and elevation adjustments. I simply could not make an adjustment and get the results I was looking for. I finally figured out that when I was installing the caps over the windage and elevation adjustment dials, they were re-engaging with the dials and actually making further random adjustments. After I started paying attention to it, I could feel the dials clicking when I was re-installing the covers. After I stopped re-installing the covers, I could readily make the adjustments and everything was working fine. Unfortunately, not re-installing the covers is not an option. I am extremely pleased with my Cabela's Alaska Guide binoculars, but just not this riflescope."

Great Scope,July 10, 2009
By takemehuntingfrom Northeast Nebraska
"Lots to love about this scope. Great eye relief. Love the rubber adjustment on the 3 x 9. Very powerful scope. I sighted my rifle in today, and couldn't believe that I was able to see the holes in my target at 100 yards. Kept me from having to use a spotting scope, or from having to do some walking. Very solid buy."

Cabela's Alaskan Guide™ Premium Riflescope 4-12x,December 7, 2008
By ColterVfrom Ogden, UT
"Best scope! Crystal clear optics are easy to look through for long periods, easy adjustments, generous eye relief, ONE of the best warranties of any company. I could go on, but let me tell you why I picked this scope over the others. I'm very picky when it comes to something that should last a lifetime. I'll spend the extra bucks to make sure I never regret the purchase and was willing to spend several hundreds of dollars more. Clarity, brightness, eye relief, AO, ease of use, durability, and warranty. The warranty is one of the best. Transferable, no questions asked, any problem with it anytime.. take it back and they'll fix or replace it for free. Leupolds does it also, but you will pay the extra cash to get one. The Leupolds were great scopes but something about them kinda tweaked my eye, probably just me, Nikon makes great scopes, and the Weaver's were pretty good. This scope is the best of them all. ~~~~~~I highly recommend this scope!!! ~~~~~~"

Value Plus................,March 24, 2008
By OtterSpotterfrom Appalachain Mountains on NC, TN, GA borders
"I purchased an ALASKAN GUIDE premium riflescope after reading about it in a popular hunting magazine. It was reviewed with three other name brand riflescopes in the same price range. I had just purchased a new Ruger #1 rifle in .243 caliber for shooting varmints. I wanted a higher power adjustable scope and was considering my usual choices of Leopold or Nikon when I read about the ALASKAN GUIDE line. The reviewer was so impressed and the scope was so modestly priced I decided to give it a try. I purchased the 6-20X40 model. I can't say how impressed I have been. I do not own any scopes that beat this one on clarity, ease of adjustments, or clarity of markings. Clarity is consistent througout the power range and with the parallex set at 100 yds, everything is crystal clear as far as I've had the opportunity to use it. (about 225 yds.) The extras included with this scope ie: aluminum screw in lens covers and the sunshade are touches you only find on much higher priced scopes. If I were to find anything I would question at all, it would just be that the windage and elevation adjustments are very easy to adjust...... almost too easy. They do not move on their own and stay where you put them, and they are click adjustable to keep up with the adjustments. When the covers are on them there is no chance that they will move. SO, this is one great "sleeper", available to hunters at a fantastic price. I am not new to Cabela's but had never been introduced to their riflescopes. If I were to buy another scope right now for any rifle, .......... this would be the one I would buy. Try it, ...... you'll be glad you did."

Alaskan Guide Premium Riflescope,December 23, 2007
By rdsinlewfrom Lewiston, CA
"Not just a great scope for the money, but just a great scope. Was surprised at the clarity and brightness of a 6x20 I put on a .223. Vastly better than an old model VXII I replaced. Feared the 6X might be too much for short range, but the AO allows it fine. Use it for ground squirrels, and the higher magnification has allowed me to spot eyes of the critters when I was otherwise unable to see them. Nice at the range, too. Also bought a 4X12 and put on a .270 Winchester, and am completely satisfied. Bought it on sale when I also had a fair amount available to use from Cabela's Club Visa. Almost felt like I was stealing!"

Alaskan Guide Premium Scope,May 30, 2007
By PabloVfrom Idaho Falls, ID
"I like this scope. It is relatively light-weight and has brighter optics than scopes that I have purchased for twice the price. I haven't shot it that much yet on my 300 WSM rifle, but so-far the zero point is holding steady."

Review 20 for Cabela's Alaskan Guide® Premium Riflescope
"The scope has very good optics and clarity. I like the screw on lense caps instead of the slide on caps. I have recommeded the scope to all my friends. I had the opportunity to use it elk hunting in Colorado and was very pleased."
