"The product is exactly as represented and works well. However, the instructions stated to drill holes 7 1/2" from top of drum to mount springs for holding lid secure and to hold lid in place while filling the drum. This creates an extreme amount of pressure on the springs when removing the lid. I will disconnect the springs before removing the lid for filling."

American Hunter 55 gallon feeder lid,

"I use this on 55 gallon platic barrels that are hanging from trees or tripods. The feeder lid works fine for 55 gallon feeders. It is a bit wider than the the feeder which does a good job of allowing water to run off rather than gather on the barrel lid. However if you hang the feeder you need to make sure your hanger will clear the lid. The attachment mechanism could be improved but it works okay and seems to keep the raccons from gnawing through the top of the feeder."

"I am using these lids for my hanging feeders so that I can avoid the ladder top balancing act with a 50 # bag of grain on my shouldet. I use a 2" X 2" stick to shove the lid on & off. I can then blow my grain into the feeder from the ground (with my home made device.) These lids will surely seve me from an eventual fall."

"This is a great product. It eliminates water build up on top of the feeder so you don't get wet when adding feed. Installation was also very easy and quick."

"AN EXCELLENT CHOICE FOR A FEEDER LID IN EITHER 30 OR 55 GALLON SIZE. THE FLAT TOP DESIGN PREVENTS PUDDLING WICH MEANS NO WATER ON YOU OR IN YOUR FEEDER WHEN OPENING AFTER RAIN OR HEAVY DEW. IT IS VERY EASILY INSTALLED WITH MINIMAL EFFORT AND TOOLS REQUIRED. THE SPRING TENSION IS STRONG ENOUGH TO KEEP CURIOUS ANIMALS FROM HAVING A LOOK INSIDE.
