"I was very skepical about this item but once I received it and attached it to the EZ load Feeder and the 12 volt rechargable battery, I was sold. This works great and is a must if you do not want to keep changing out your batteries."

great product,September 9, 2008

"I bought the solar panel to charge a stelth camera that eats AA batteries. With a little modification I was able to make it work with some 1.5 volt rechargable AA batteries. The camera was designed to use a solar panel we just never purchased it, and now you can't find one for the camera."

12v solar panel,July 15, 2007
By bigjd60from PA
"These chargers work great!! As long as the 12v battery you are using it on is 8 amp hour or less it will keep it fully charged. Some people try to keep auto and deep cycle batteries charged with them there not powerful enough to counteract the natural drain of a big battery from day to day. If you are going to have the power cord exposed to the weather and sun just wrap it with some elec. tape. I have several 12v and 6v models in use with deer feeders with no problem. Never have to pull a battery to charge it at home. I have one feeder out now for over two years now and haven't pulled the battery yet operates the feeder as if it were new. Also depending on your photo period (hours of daylight) and the number of gadgets or if you are feeding more than a couple times a day you may want to consider two panels to double the mill. amps back to the battery to keep it charged. One to face the rising sun and one to face the setting sun to ensure a full battery. Just wire them up with all the poss. connections together and all the neg. connections together and your all set."

12V Solar Charger,November 22, 2006
By Hairbag
"Although designed for use with automatic deer feeders, I have five of them in use in various locations for maintaining deep cycle marine batteries used for occasional lighting and electric fence chargers. They will not keep the battery fully charged, but have reduced the frequency of mains charging from monthly to every three months. The leads may deterioate faster in the sunlight than one would expect given their intended outdoor application. Mounting screws are provided, but in my application I found that a dab of silicone cement on the back would suffice and saved drilling for screws."
