"This particular model does not produce enough power to charge a battery period, let alone hooked up to an active feeder. Wattage is toooooo low! The other model that Cabelas sells for around $10 more worked great for years!"

"I don't consider myself the sharpest knife in the drawer, but I'm not the dullest either. For the life of me I couldn't figure out how the brackets attach to the panel. I had to do some "modifying" to get it to happen. Also there was not enough hardware to attach the charger to the feeder or panel. THERE WERE NO INSTRUCTIONS WITH IT, SO I HAD NO IDEA ABOUT INSTALLATION SUGGESTIONS, CHARGE TIMES OR MAINTENANCE. I installed it 2 days before writing this review, so I can only hope the recharging benefits work better than it's customer service features."

"It works great. The only questionable function is the stability and sturdiness of the standing for the actual panel. They seem flimsy and easily breakable. If knocked over or hit by a branch of some sort it would break for sure, but mine have not yet. But for the price, it is great."

"Again, this is my second purchase and my batteries have been recharging for years..One piece of advice..attach the panel facing towards the direction you'll receive the most light...and away from any area that the critters will be crawling to, to get to the feeder..ie you don't want squirrels and raccoons to be crawling over it or knocking it off or bending the stand..you'll be amazed what these critters will do!"

"I recently bought the Moultre 30 Gallon E-Z Fill Feeder and also the American Hunter 6-volt Solar Panel which was recomended when I ordered. I do not recomend this product for such use unless you are willing to modify. This product works well , but I recomend the solar panel from Moultre, were you are able to plug right in and mounts directly to the timer. This is also a sugestion to Cabela's to rectify."

"I bought 2 chargers for my deer feeders. The batteries charged fully and have maintained their charge throughout the coldest part of winter. I wish there would have been screws with the unit for mounting. The mount is a little flimsy so you will need to get screws and be careful when mounting. I used a cordless drill and some sheet metal screws and it worked ok."

"I have two of these panels, one on a moultrie feeder that runs twice a day and one on a moultrie game camera that uses the flash.
I have used these panels for over a year now and still have the same batteries installed.
It pays for itself in just a month or so.
Batteries keep going up in price.
Every month or so check out your feeder or camera and move the alligater clips to keep a good contact with the springs.
I highly recommend this panel for the 6 volt rechargable battery."

I built a cage around it and ran the wires to the feeder in
EMT so the squirles couldnt chew the wires or get to the solar panel"

"I bought this 6V Panel and a 6V rechargeable battery for my American Hunter feeder and it works great.
FYI..this solar panel comes with alligator clips to connect it to the battery and my feeder had a female plug to connect to a solar panel so I just cut all connecters off and used a small butt connector to wire it and it works fine."

"I have messed around with different types of batteries in my feeders for a long time, trying to see which would get me the most use, but I always found myself replacing them frequently. I was a a skeptic about getting this, but sure glad I did. I have been using one battery on the feeder I installed it in for 2 months now and it has stayed fully charged."
