"I decided to lay down my compound bow and try my hand at deer hunting with a traditional bow. After spending countless hour reading reviews and shooting a handful of bows, I ended up making the decision to buy this bow. It was more than I intended on spending but I have no regrets. I went with the 60lb draw weight, and found the arrow flew much faster than I expected. I purchased my bow after 09 season, so I have not had the pleasure of drawing this beast back on a deer yet, but with the groups I am already shooting the turkeys better be on their toes!!! Also if you prefer to use sights and stabilizers you can send this bow to the maker and for a very reasonable price they will drill and install threads. If this was not enough to make you add this item to your cart... it is also one of the most beautiful bow I've seen. Shoot 'em straight!!!!!!!!"

"If I were not a collector in addition to a hunter , I would probably sell all of my Vintage Kodiaks and Pearsons after shooting/hunting with this bow. This particular"Howatt Hunter" model way outshines the rest of the Martin Line of recurves. If you are a instinctive shooter that does not use sights, go shoot one of these first and the decision is easy. Hard hitting and accurate, smooth all the way through the draw without any noticable stacking out to 30"."

"This is a great bow. I purchased the 60lb draw. It draws smooth and hits hard. Cedar arrows seem to shoot best, but I have shot carbon with acceptable accuracy."

Martin Hunter Recurve Bow,September 25, 2007

"I have the 55# right hand version. It was a bit loud when first strung. I put a bit of moleskin under the string grooves and a leach dampener on each end of the string and it made all the difference in the world. Once a good nocking point is set and you do everything right.....arrows fly dead on. The bow is beautiful and smooth through the entire pull. For a 62" long bow, it is light and very easy to manage."
