Worked Great,
September 15, 2009
By garymc

"I installed the plotsaver on two different plots in a high deer density area. Both plots showed little or no sign of entry by deer. I witnessed deer avoid the plot saver even 3 weeks after spraying. It is a bit pricey but is great for giving your plots a chance to grow."

plot saver for dove field,
July 30, 2009
By Anonymous
from south carolina
|
"Product was fair. I felt like it was a lot of work. The tape would fall down or get rained on and be ineffective. It's easy to do a very small area (less than 1/2 acre) but when your trying to protect a 15 acre dove field planted in sunflowers it's almost impossible."

Plot saver starter kit,
July 7, 2009
By shedhntr
from Rogers, AR.
|
"Save your money! I had my doubts and I was right, Did as instructions said I even sprayed it again 3 weeks later. It had no effect on stopping the deer. I only did a 3/4 acre test plot as I left over 4 acres for the deer to graze, Thought this would be a good test. Even though the product failed Cabelas gave a full refund. Outstanding Cabelas service!"

Plot-Saver Kit,
August 27, 2008
By Dodgeman2001
from Deer and Hog hunter. South Carolina
|
"I used the kit last year for the first time and was pleased with results. If there is much rainfall the ribbon has to be resprayed more often to be effective. I am waiting to see if the deer are going to become use to it over time. Just have to wait and see. It also seems to work on hogs."

"WE BELIEVE THAT PLOTSAVER HAS SAVED OUR GARDEN. THE DEER ATE OFF ALL OF OUR FIRST GREEN BEANS. WE PUT UP ELECTRIC FENCE AND IT DIDN'T SEEM TO DO ANY GOOD AT ALL. HOWEVER, IT DOESN'T SEEM TO LAST THREE WEEKS FOR US BEFORE WE HAVE TO SPRAY AGAIN."

Plot savers for TWO PURPOSES,
August 5, 2008
By DRT24
from northern michigan
|
"I ordered the product on the recommendation of many friends who have found it successful in keeping deer out of their gardens. I didn't realize it came in two colors - one for farmers (in white) and one for gardeners (in black). The black is thought to fade into the shadows of your garden -- while the white is meant to show up. I returned my white Plot Saver, but not for any product defeciency."

Plot Saver 1-Acre Starter Kit & fiberglass stakes.,
July 28, 2008
By Pilotarrow
from Sequim, WA
|
"This Kit was purchased to discourage local deer from feeding and pooping on two 20' x 60' plots of grass that are on each side of our home. We sprayed the tape twice with the solution as directed.
The deer were not deterred and continued to enter the plots both by jumping over and crawling under the tape with no noticeable concern about any smell. As many as a half-dozen deer would congregate to munch and manure at any given time.
I returned the Kit after a fair trial time and resorted to the use of a BB gun and slingshot."

Effective Deer Repellant?,
June 18, 2008
By FoodPlotter
from South Central Texas - Hill Country
|
"Well, the Plot Saver is not working for me in South Central Texas. Have had it up for almost 3 weeks now and my sunflowers are still getting hammered. I am not able to be at this property all of the time. I will say that when I have been there, I have not seen any deer in the protected area, however I am seeing their tracks. Must be hitting it at night. I think I am also getting hit by low crawling critters such as coons. I might need to put another ribbon up low so it might protect against small animals. Overall I am not seeing the Plot Saver as an effective way of repelling deer and other wildlife from my food plots...."

"This is an outstanding product. I had deer eating peas just outside ribbon last year, but they would not cross the ribbon. I let peas get knee high before letting deer feed on the peas. The plot save r worked as advertised. The only knock I have on this product is that it is too expensive."

Plotsaver works!!!!!!!!!!!!,
May 19, 2008
By ILdeerhunter
from Southern Illinois
|
"Having grown food plots for almost ten years, we have never been able to grow corn or legumes before plotsaver came about. The deer were always keeping stuff mowed down as quick as it would come up. We started using Plotsaver four years ago and it has allowed us to plant (and grow) beans, peas, corn, sunflowers, and others. Yes, the deer do still get in the plot but it keeps @90% out. Our plots are surrounded by over 2000 acres of timber and there are not any crop fields for miles, yet Plotsaver gives the plants a chance to get big enough to withstand the heavy grazing. We are completely sold on the product."

Lots of Time and Effort,
June 16, 2007
By musicman61465
from Eastland County Texas
|
"I established 14 food plots in Texas this year 2007. I used the plot saver on 1 of them as a test because I planted Lablab and wanted to give it a chance to mature before letting the deer get to it. NO way, they were in it the day it germinated.
Plot saver did scare some of my better deer off of that part of my farm. I was seeing less deer overall because of the white nylon rope always flapping in the wind.
In my humble opinion it was a total waste of time and effort. For the money you spend on this go ahead and buy extra seed and skip the plot saver. Plant enough groceries that your deer can not possibly keep up with your plots and then you are doing what you intended to do wtih the plots, you are feeding the deer.
If you really want to try this then just get a nylon rope and rope off the food plot. Put pickle juice and malt vinegar in a Windex type sprayer and spray the nylon rope until it drips due to saturation. Hang a few old T-shirts off of the nylon rope every 50 yards or so and the deer will not get near it for a while. All youre doing is scaring the deer away and I dont want to scare or stress my deer."
