"Same clip I got with the gun, they do need to be used before they just slide on all the way up the clip rail to fully lock in. After a full days use they were all fine.This is a normal situation even for the original clip."

"The clips don't work as well as the original. They don't seem to want to click into place. But they do work when you get them in there correctly. It is not a fast change."

"Neither one of these clips worked out of the package. The design is poor, as the bullet feed is not consistent. The first round or two may chamber and then the next round will jamb. Due to the clip sheet metal thickness, the interface between the chambering round is not consistent and the spring pressure below, which introduces the round to the bolt causes the bullet point to rotate up and thereby the rim to rotate down so the bolt passes over the top of the round missing the round altogether. After two hours of adjusting and filing one clip, it chambers now only 40% of the time, 2 out of 5.
The packages were factory labeled from the original manufacturer of the firearm and were not made by a aftermarket company."

"These are genuine 93R17 magazines for .17 hmr or .22 mag and work as well as the original that came with my rifle. They are in savage packaging and are identical to the one that came with my .17 hmr rifle. One of them needed a little tlc to go in smoothly and lock in place, but that seems to be typical of these. Glad to have found them at Cabela's and the price was right."

".17 HMR Stainless savage arms clips. These 4 clips functioned satisfactorily. They all fit smoothly into the rifle. Two of the clips would accept and feed 5 rounds into the rifle as they were designed to do. Two of the clips would only accept and feed 4 rounds; if 5 rounds were put in the clips, the first round would not feed. I considered this satisfactory for my purposes, as I had purchased 4 blued clips earlier, and none of them fit smoothly into the rifle until they were extensively adjusted (filed and sanded etc.). None of the blued clips could be made to consistantly feed rounds into the rifle. Two of the blued clips plus the blued clip that came with the rifle would never feed shells into the rifle."

"I accidentally got my original clip mixed up with the replacements and I could not tell the difference looks or performance!!!!!!!!!! This is definitely a product you don't need to think twice about purchasing. It is just what you need. By the way my Savage is the .17HMR."

"I bought a two pack of the stainless clips and neither fit in my rifle properly, they jammed and did not engage. This is clearly a problem with Savage’s supplier not Cabela’s. The clip that came with the rifle has always been a little tight too but it worked. Some creative grinding with the Dremel Tool and a file I was able to get the clips to work, even tuned-up the stock clip. I would only recommend this product if you are handy with a file and are not afraid of grinding on gun parts. But I still love my Savage!"

"Being the only down point of the fine rifle or it may just be the size of the 17 HMR, I have had a problem racking the bolt gingerly enough to put a round in the chamber from day one. These clips are the same as the one that came with the rifle so nothing has changed. The price was competive and Cabela's shipping was excellent, I recieced them two days sooner than expected."
