Great Coat,

"I got this coat a few years ago, because I'm a big fan of wool clothing and I wanted to own a classic. I like to winter hunt in the Western MD mountains, in temperatures of 10 - 20 F. After using it for two years, I can see why this coat has been around for ages. It's warm and quiet, and very well-made.
The only thing you have to be careful about is the sizing, as this coat is cut large. I'm 6'2", 220 lbs and typically wear either a 46 or 48 size sports coat. Usually, this means I get an X-Large for everything. I first ordered an X-Large and found it was too big. I returned it and got a Large. This fits well and has enough room for layering underneath.
I also own the Woolrich bib overalls. They're great as well. I strongly recommend Woolrich wool clothing."

Great coat, wind gets through,

"Great coat, heavy and warm. Lots of pockets, easy to open. Great classic look at well. The only thing it does not do is block the wind. Layer underneath if it will be windy. Otherwise should last forever. The last wool coat I should ever had to buy."

"THIS IS JUST WHAT I NEEDED FOR KEEPING WARM IN THE NORTH COUNTRY. I WOULD ADVISE ANYONE ORDERING THIS TO GO ONE SIZE SMALLER THAN YOU WOULD NORMALLY WEAR IN REGULAR FLANNEL. I ORDERED AND XL AND HAD TO SEND IT BACK IN FOR A LARGE. I GENERALLY WEAR AN XL WHAN IT COMES TO OTHER WOOLRICH COATS."

Wool Hunting Coat is a classic!,

"My husband loves this coat. I had to order a larger size for sleeve length. He is tall and needed longer sleeves. He loves it though! I think the size is probably true to size if you are ordering for regular size. But if you are tall, the next size up was just fine."

"This coat has more pockets than a billiard room and so warm it's like taking your campfire with you. Game pocket, hand warmer pockets at chest level, four front pockets with snaps and a collar that's like your own portable windbreak.Seams are all tight and the wool is well finished and not the least bit stiff. I'd give it ten stars if I could."

"My old mackinaw gave up the ghost last winter after 30 years of faithful service so I decided to start looking for a replacement. Looked at several but it came down to this one and the Filson. After going back and forth several times I decided to give this one a try.
I have used this coat all winter, snowblowing, working outside, hunting, it is my go to coat for all things winter. It is very warm(and Heavy), can be too warm if you are real active. It also sheds the weather really well. I just cannot find anything bad to say about it. I am thinking this one will last me for another 30 years. If you are in the market for a winter wool coat put it on your list to check out."

"I still wear mine handed down to me by my Grandpa, 30+ years old and it shows minimal wear. After it does wears out I will buy another. Wind does not get through this jacket. My feet get cold long before my upper body."

"This is one very warm jacket! I have use this jacket for hunting when on a stand for many hours in very cold weather. It's almost too warm to use if stalking game. It's also very heavey (that's why it is so warm), but overall it is the best super cold weather jacket that I have ever had."
