Great Folder,
December 23, 2008
By arrowman2317

"Sharp, stays sharp, dressed out 4 deer, and skinned, used lightly as a breaker style knife also while butchering. Touched up with a ceramic rod style sharpener 2 times. The edge holding power is amazing. Clean up with this folder is easy. The gut hook feature is also amazing, sharp and functional. This knife is truly a performer. I will be carrying this one next season elk hunting, very lightweight. Probably the best blade steel I have ever owned, better than VG10 in my opinion."

SHARP,
December 23, 2008
By tmitch4570

"Bought this knife 2 years ago and have field dressed and butchered 3 deer and the original edge is still shaving sharp! The edge holding properties of the main blade is truly remarkable. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the saw/gut hook blade is not up to the same standard. For a gut hook, it is too thin and does not seem to hold an edge nearly as well as the main blade. The hook is flat bottomed and clogs with hair and does not work nearly as well as other V or U shaped hooks I have used. The saw does work well for it's size."

"Only used it on one deer and was amazed how well it worked. Was skeptical about the gut hook and bone saw but it worked extremely well and fast. Blade was sharp right out of the box and still is. Many great features without the extra weight and additional tools."

PBS CROSSLOCK KNIFE,
November 19, 2007
By TxAggieBowhunter
from Farmington, NM
|
"I bought this knife like everybody else to combine two tools into one. The steel is great as everybody else has indicated. I lost a small chunk out of the blade through normal use but have cleaned a few whitetails so far and still sharp. The gut hook works really well. The only reason this is a 4 instead of a five is that the knive is a bit hard to clean and when filled with animal 'stuff' the blades do not always lock. Shut the blade then open again and the problem is solved. I have put the "Mini Alpha" on my Wish List but will buy it if it does not show up under the tree this Christmas. Happy Hunting >>>---------------->"

"I used this knife to skin and gut to large bull elk this season. My guide told me it was the sharpest knife he had ever used! So far, the knife has worked great. I just wish it had a rubberized handle or non-slip."

Top of the Line,
October 30, 2007
By Llamaman
from West Michigan
|
"The other reviews of this knife are all good and this one won't be any different. It's light, easy to clean, sharp as a razor with an edge that lasts. I just field dressed and butchered my first deer of the year and the knife is still razor sharp.
The guthook works great and having it on a seperate blade from the knife is a definite plus. My old knife had a guthook on the back of the knfe blade and many times it would get in the way while using the knife. Particularly while field dressing.
The saw blade cuts very aggressively and went thru the pelvic bone in no time.
I'll be hanging onto this knife for a long time."

"This knife is a real tool to have in your camping, fishing, and hunting experiences. Used it to clear limbs and the saw does a great job. Quick, solid and gives you the feeling that it is going to last forever. The coated blade has a good edge and is still easy to sharpen. This knife will make anyone on your gift list a happy hunter."

excellent skinner,

"This is the only knife I have owned that can skin and bone out an entire elk without touchup. You get a light custom quality blade and tool at a reasonable price. The S30v blade steel is superior to the many common steels like 420,440c and I am hard on a knife blade. Its light and quality built though a bit hard to clean with all of the nooks and crannys. The lock mechanism is not rock solid but totally smooth and more than sufficient. I have used the saw to death on limbs and an elk skull-long story- and it is still sharp."

High quality knife,
June 6, 2007
By Pascal
from Sudbury, MA
|
"My current knife is a Tanto 5 1/2" fixed blade. This is a good and solid knife. I needed a slightly smaller knife with a folding blade. I bought the PBS knife based on its reputation. I was worry that the knife was not as strong as the Tanto and the saw blade was a gimmick.
When I received the PBS knife I noticed right away that the box was heavier than what I expected. Good surprise! This is not cheap construction. The saw blade works also extremely well. I tried it on a 1/2" branch. I cut it clean without any effort or loosing my grip.
I cannot wait to use the knife in the field."
