The original lock-back knife, the 110 Folder sports a 3-3/4" clip-point blade crafted of S30V steel with rosewood scales. Developed by Crucible Steel, S30V is made up of metallic powders fused together under intense pressure and heat. It is tempered under extremely high temperatures then cooled in a cryogenic freezer. The resulting metal delivers a fine combination of edge retention (45% greater than 420HC), flexibility and hardness (59-61 Rockwell) while remaining easy to sharpen with conventional stones. This steel also has a high chromium content for oxidation resistance. For even greater corrosion resistance, each knife is treated with a titanium aluminum nitride coating. Our field testing and independent Cutlery Allied Trade Research Association tests prove these knives outperform those crafted with other blade metals. Comes with a leather sheath. Made in USA. Folded length: 4-7/8". Weight: 7.2 oz.
Available: Rosewood, Desert Ironwood.

"Blade quality and sharpness are both excellent. Nice heavy knife. Only negative was the rosewood handle looks a little cheap for a knife of this quality."

The real deal,January 3, 2009
By Rylandmanfrom Alabama
"This knife is the real deal. It is not a re-labeling of an old concept. The metal in this knife behaves different than all my other knives. The metal is hard but had good luck finishing the new blade to my liking with a water ceramic stone. The course ceramic stone cut as opposed to all my other natural and finer ceramic rocks. The hard knife metal glides over the Washita stone with little cutting. The knife gets scary sharp when the final edge is polished with a fine ceramic or hard or better Arkansas stone. It takes a few extra strokes to get there but well worth it. I cut my finger field dressing a deer. The blade only touched my finger. Just received the knife from my daughters for a Christmas present and don't have much experience with its edge holding ability. However, in my opinion it will be as tough or tougher than my old 440C Buck 110. One negative, the rivets on the handle were not not well finished."

One Awesome knife,November 29, 2008
By stringman14from KC
"I recieved this knife as a Christmas gift from my wife. After using it on deer, I can say this is one great knife. It started out sharp and stayed sharp through cleaning, skinning and butchering the deer. It is still sharp. I would like to see this steel in a fillet knife. You can not go wrong buying these knives. I will buy others of this series."

Very Good Hunting Knife,November 28, 2008
By dotsonjfrom Apex, North Carolina
"I bought this knife after reading the reviews here, and I can say they are all pretty much dead on this is a very good knife. The first thing I noticed when I took it out of the box is that this bad boy is heavy for its size. The blade folds out and locks firmly into position and is really tight, no wobble in it at all. I got it pretty sharp before hunting, and field dressed two deer with it without touching it up between the two. It went clean through the ribcage on both whitetail and retained its edge very well. This knife feels very sturdy, and does its job well. I have not had a second thought about buying it, and I am looking forward to having this knife for many years to come."

The steel makes the difference,November 18, 2008
By KyPetefrom Louisville, Ky
"As a Tool and Die manufacturing Co. owner, I am very familiar with the metallurgy of the Tool Steel used in this knife. The steel ingredients and the heat treating process is exactly why this knife holds it's edge for so long. I have used it on 2 deer and it is still as sharp as when I got it."

Buck Alaskan 110 is a real winner!,October 28, 2008
By SRSHAWfrom Plymouth County, Massachusetts
"Bought the Alaskan Folding Hunter as a gift for a hunting partner in Alberta Canada - I have been a fan of the 110 Buck Folder since the mid seventies. The knife was put to use straight away on our hunt this fall. My Gerber folder needed re-sharpening over and over while we striped a moose. However, the Buck stood strong and the new blade impressed us all. It was sturdy in the hand and more than adequate for overall skinning and cutting. It handled two mule deer after the moose and was ready for more! -Needless to say, it made a great gift and the well made leather sheath added to its utility. Thanks, Cabela's."

Cabela's model 110 Better Than Standard Model 110.,June 16, 2008
By My3KidsDadfrom Alberta.
"After sharpening this knife with progressive stones (600, 1000, 4000, and 8000 (1/2 micron polish) grits, we have verified that the s30v- Bos heat-treated blade alloy is all it's cracked up to be- shaving sharp. It takes the hair off my arm pronto. And the a30v alloy is reputed to hold that edge longer than 420HC steel. Way to go Cabela's. Keep them coming."

Quality Issues!,March 28, 2008
By PastorScottyfrom WV
"I got 3 defective knives in a row with this model. Either the silver rivet on one side is very rough instead of smooth; & the handle on the other side has a dip wallowed out in the wood towards the front. I bought 2 model 110's in the late 70's that never has any defects whatsoever."

Buck 110/ S30V,March 12, 2008
By kamotzfrom Rising Sun,MD
"I finally retired my Puma Prince, and went with this Buck 110/S30V. Had I known the quality of this knife, I would have switched a lot sooner. The 110 is already a classic, but the S30V blade puts this knife on a total nother level than the stainless knives I've owned before. Ive processed 3 deer with it cutting through hair and all trying to see what it could do, it did not disapoint. I will cary one from now on, I hope Buck continuse to offer this knife in the future because knowing the 110, it will be decades before I need a replacement."

Cabelas Alaskan Guide Series Buck 110,February 20, 2008
By SteveinCharlottefrom Charlotte, NC
"This is a very high quality knife. The S30V blade steel is one of the best knife steels there is. The fit and finish is excellent. The knife came very sharp and will make a very nice folding hunter or everyday carry knife."
