"stunned. This is hands down the sharpest knife I have used and its ability to hold an edge is amazing. It would have been nice to have a synthetic handle option, the checkering does create a little hassle in cleaning but the edge and balance of the knife makes it well worth the purchase. Get one."

"The Gerbe freeman has always been a well shaped, comfortable knife to use, and this version makes everything better. The cocobolo grips look awesome, and will match your 1911. They also keep a solid hold when things get slick. The S30V steel is worth every penny - I used to favor D2, but this stuff holds an edge better, is easier to sharpen, doesn't rust, and is just as strong. Skinned and dressed 2 200# hogs with it and could still shave arm-hair. Just as an afterthought, a knife this good deserves a Lansky sharpening system to keep that pretty edge up. Kudos to the Cabela's Skunkworks Team on this one!"

"This knife holds it's edge well and is fairly easy to sharpen. I cleaned several deer without need to sharpen. The only drawback is the handle. If you're cleaning animals, it's difficult to get the blood and goo out of the grooves in the handle. If you can overlook that; it's a great knife.
