"Vest would get 5 stars if it didnt have the rapidloader. it holds the shells so tight you have to use two hands to remove the shells and still at times the plastic that holds the shell pulls out of the vest. Good idea - poor design. Would not buy another.
Sorry cabelas , im a fan of reveiws but this product does not make the cut."

"After wrestling with the rapid loader a few times I reverted to
carrying shells in my pockets as always. My son however is intriqued with the feature and borrows the vest frequently. It will be his birthday present next week. The vest is a bit heavy but has many handy and generous pockets ."

Great Idea but...,

"This a nicely designed vest with almost all the features you would want. The only trouble is the shot shell dispenser simply doesn’t work. I had to use both hands and a good bit of help form King Kong to get a shell through the dispenser. Despite its other nice features I had to return the vest. I’ll probably buy another Cabela’s vest, but not this one."

"I sent the vest back because of the way the rapid loader plastic shell holders came out at the bottom and had to be worked back into the fabric shell tubes. I am use to a Columbia rapid loader vest which has the plastic shell holders sewn in a little further up in the fabric tube which prevents the plastic from seperating out of the fabric tube. Plus the Columbia vest holds more shells in its longer fabric tubes. Other than the plastic tube problem the vest was good quality and I liked the camo pattern, my Columbia is not camo."

"been through alot of vests usually need a new one every two years, thought i would buy one that will last for a long time and i bought the right one. has more pockets then you need the speed tubes work great when you get a box or two through them, very easy to get birds in and out and is very durable. only downer is you will get hot if your hunting in warmer weather."

"nice large inside pocket w/zipper lotsa room and also two large zippered pockets on front of vest and two large button over pockets , also they as well have plenty of room! A big plus w/me! love the rapid reloader shell drop down sleeves. All around a very excellent product for the price!
Whether you use It for squirrel,birds, ETC."

"I've been searching for a waterfowl vest for several years similar to the Pheasant vest I had bought and really liked. The rapid loader in a camo pattern is really top notch. I liked it so much I bought one for my hunting buddy as well. Great idea taking a winning design and making it for the duck hunters of the world.

"Sorry this vest isn't as good as the Columbia rapidloader you previouly sold. The shells (in 20 gauge) do not properly release from the holder and there is a gap between the plastic holder and the cloth guide which causes shells to get jammed."

VERY GOOD HUNTING VEST,

"I bought this vest because I was impressed with its 'reloading feature'. It sounds and looks very impressing, but I actually found out that it does not work as simply as described, especially when hunting thrush. The shells are stuck somewhere on the way, and sometimes (especially if you have cold hands), the shell needs a lot of effort to be squezed out (I guess this problem will be solved with usage, as the plastic will losen up). I intend to implement a very good suggestion (one that I read in the reviews), to improve the efficiency of my vest. I am going to install plastic tubes inside the rapidloader shafts, to direct the shells to reach my hands more easily. Other than the above, that I hope will see a lot of improvement, it is an excellent vest, with lots of space, very well made, and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to be equiped with good quality gear, for a very reasonable price."

"I have used this vest dove hunting and I am very pleased with the performance of this vest. The pockets are very accessible and hold more shells than any other vest that I have ever owned. I really like the front game loading and would recommend this vest to anyone who's looking for a awesome bird hunting vest. Cabela's have really done their homework on this one. "The only problem I have with this vest is that the pockets are so big that I pack them full of shells and other equipment which makes the vest quite heavy. It is a great vest! It is well worth the cost. The rapid loaders work alright. I put three shells in each tube. The first shell is very easy to get out, but the second and third I have had to push down so enough of the shell would stick out for me to grab. But it is a great vest and I would recommend it to anyone and everyone!"
