Cabela's T.E.F. 60 WindShear™ Jacket - Tall

Didn't think we could improve on something as close to perfection as traditional fleece outerwear? Think again. Because the Thinsulate? Supreme Insulation packs its incredible insulating properties into a thin feather-light layer, this jacket is comparable in weight to other fleece garments, but far surpass them in warmth. The MicroPlush liner has a soft, brushed texture. And the 100% windproof, water-resistant, breathable WindShear? laminate prevents chilly breezes from robbing your body of heat, increasing the garment's warmth-retaining ability even further. Uninsulated arm gussets in the jacket deliver extra breathability. Jacket also has articulated elbows, nylon-faced shoulders and elastic cuffs. Zippered handwarmer pockets and an adjustable shock-corded bottom hem. Imported. Tall sizes: M-3XL. Extra 2" body length, 1-1/2" sleeve length. Colors: Dark Mushroom, Loden, Charcoal Heather, Deep Blue Sea, Dark Rust, Carbon.

"This jacket is a perfect match for all but the sub freezing parts of our Iowa weather. I was looking for something light and warm that would stop the wind like leather, only without the restriction of movement. This is it, spot on. The pockets are large enough for gloves and a stocking hat, and they close with big easy zippers. When I look for outerwear I'll be looking for the word Windshear!

"I am 6'2" and about 160 lbs. I always have a hard time finding clothes that are long and lean enough for me. I got the jacket in a Medium Tall and it fits perfectly. It seems to be pretty warm and windproof. The only drawback is that the Dark Mushroom color I ordered looks more like green, but I like it enough to keep it. Got the jacket for railroad work (outside all day and sometimes nights too) so that will be the ultimate test for warmth and durability."

Nice but, February 23, 2009

"This jacket is cut too large. I wear a large to xlarge, but had to get a medium. It's impervious to wind, and is very warm. This would be an idea jacket if they left off the nylon elbows and shoulder and just made it the fleece. The nylon doesn't match the color and style of the rest of the jacket and makes it heavy and noisy. I got it for a great deal on clearance, so I kept it."

"At 6'3" and 200+ pounds, it's not always easy to find outerwear that fits. I purchased the T.E.F. jacket in a tall XL and it fits perfectly. Just enough room for layering and plenty of sleeve length. Has performed well in the cold weather as the Windshear fabric does its job. A great jacket!"

"This is a well made jacket that really does cut the wind. I am wearing it as a light winter jacket for between 0 and -20C.

I ordered a 3xl tall and it fits well in the shoulders and arms but is just long enough in the body and has a fair amount of extra material around the waist.

Would have been 5 stars but the body could have been longer."

"I wear this coat alpine skiing on sunny days. Temperature is typically in the 20-30 degree range. East wind of 5-10 MPH is cold. I used to wear my hardshell parka. This jacket blocks the wind. An inside pocket and armpit zippers would raise my rating to 5+ stars. This is a great jacket at a great price!!"

"The Jacket works perfectly on a dry,windy 28*F flightline. Haven't worn it in the sparse rain that we receive, mainly because that's not what it's designed for. I highly recommend the jacket for cooler temperatures. Anything more than 50*F with moderate activity and I had to shed it"

"Overall this is a very nice jacket, I bought it because I had purchase a vest with the same windshear/style. I bought the jacket in Large Tall. Which is a good size for layering, I am 6-2, 200 lbs. However it ran on the big side, I would probably not get the tall the next time or drop down to a medium tall-if they made it in that size. I probably wouldn't wear it into town for that fact that it seems like an over abundience of material in the belly area-which makes the jacket look sloppy.

But if it is used for heavy wind like we get here in Sault Ste Marie Michigan (winds off of Lake Superior)-it is an excellent, excellent jacket for this purpose."

Cobalt does not equal Purple, December 15, 2008

"The jacket looked grey on the website but when it arrived it was purple. The main body of it is the purplish grey, the trim is blue, and the elbows/collar is black. Sound ugly? It is.

Other than the color it seems like a nice jacket. A bit stiff but seems like it should be warm.

I returned the jacket and got the same one in "Dark Mushroom". I just got it today and look forward to writing a review on it after I wear it a bit."

"I purchased this coat to help in dealing with working in the cold weather of Ontario. I have used it for the last 4 weeks and find it excellent in the cold wind. It literally blocks the wind from coming through. It is so good that I was actually sweating in the cold weather of the last week and had to open the front of the jacket to let some of the built up heat out."

Best fitting jacket ever, October 17, 2008

"I haven't had a chance to wear this jacket out in the cold yet but truth be told all my excitment is in the fit. I'm tall, nearly 6'4", so most of my life I have had to buy jackets, coats, shirts, etc, in the 2XL size in oder to get a garment long enough for my arms. In the end I've allways ended up with something still too short in the sleeves and the bottom of the garment blouses out like a skirt. I bought this jacket in XL tall because I weigh 250lbs with an athletic build. The jacket fits fantastic. The sleeves come to my wrist, the waist of the jacket is at my waist and is not too loose and the chest shoulder fits great with room for layering but not so loose that I can't just wear a tee shirt underneath. I can't recommend this jacket enough for fit, performance and especially price."

"Quality construction. Materials are well put together. Fit is a bit small. I am a 3xlt and found the jacket is about a1/2 size small. I would recommend ordering up a size. Also length is a bit less than hip length. It is more like navel length. I am 6'3" tall with a long torso, so if I do not tuck in a shirt, they will hang out the bottom."
