NOT for serious cold, October 27, 2009
By trasheeka from Hockey in TX

"The boots keep me warm longer than other boots. BUT! these were my first boots for warmth. I stand at/on corner ice at hockey games taking photos. I still need toe warmers to make it though a complete game. The tops of the boots are very stiff and rub. The boots do not have arch support. I would not want to hike very far in them.
I bought my normal size and the fit is OK with regular socks; my liners and wool socks make it a little tight.

Great boot - order 1/2 size up, October 23, 2009
By BrainerdLady from Brainerd lakes area, MN

"I got my Snow Runners a year ago. After reading all the reviews before ordering, I ordered 1/2 size up and am glad I did. (I usually wear a D width and whether the 1/2 size bigger or that the boot is wider anyway, it was a perfect fit for me.)
I wore these boots for 10 hours the first day. We own a small store and are open 12 hours daily - on our feet standing or walking around, inside and out. They are comfortable inside on our cement floors and more than adequate while being out and active for up to an hour even in our -20's last winter (longer than that or being still, feet got cold .. but they aren't for those temps). They are a Great winter hiking boot too! I think what I've come to really appreciate is how lightweight they are and the great support they give.
So Cabela's, when are you going to come out with a lower, ankle height Snow Runner?

Great Boot with exception..., October 21, 2009
By Yheti from Ohio

"I purchased this boot in-store, and fell in love with it right away. It had everything I needed for work, weather proof, warm, and came in a wide width.

I work outside and am on my feet all day, by the fifth day I wore them, there was a major problem. On the ankle of the boot there are several layers of leather that meet. This area is hard and pushes on the back of my ankle bone. I have never gotten a blister from this, rather it feels like it rubs on a nerve. I couldn't ware any type of boot for 4 days after this first issue, as any pressure on my ankle bone caused me to limp in pain.

I have since come up with a few methods of protecting my ankle from the rubbing. I have to stuff a piece of thick padding (I use carpet pad remnant) between my ankle and the boot. This works, however it is a hassle.

If it weren't for this one issue with the boots, I would give them 5 stars. They are warm, comfortable, and keep my feet dry.

Great boot - order 1/2 size larger, July 22, 2009
By Weartheboots from Colorado Springs, CO

"This is an extremely warm & comfortable boot if purchase in the proper size. Strong sole & good arch. I usually wear an 8 shoe so I ordered an 8 boot which fit well with "thin" socks & still kept my foot warm but boot became very uncomfortable after a while like I was walking on concrete barefooted. I am sure that if I would have allowed for 1/2 size larger to accomadate a thicker sock - this boot would be GREAT! Excellent waterproof & warmth. If you intend to use this boot as a "hiking boot" I recommend only using in the winter. Your foot will stay extremely warm but too hot for summer. I AM an actual customer. If you like to read these review's & they help you in your decision - please send in YOUR review - people really do read them & you could help someone else with their decision. Cabella's customer service center is GREAT TOO. Non-biased & will answer all your questions & concerns. Enjoy!"

"I bought a pair of these a couple of years ago and I'm still wearing them. Easy to wear right from the start....and they are warm, so when I saw them on sale again it was an easy choice to pick-up an extra pair."

Keep your feet warm & dry, April 7, 2009
By NatureGal from Napa, CA

"I bought these to wear on a trip to Truckee, CA in the Sierra where it gets very cold and snowy. I wore them on a 3 mile hike in the snow and my feet stayed warm and dry. One day it was 5 degrees F and I was fine wandering around outside. I have bad circulation in my feet so that's saying something!

As for true to size it's hard to say. I have fairly wide feet, I think about a C width. My feet measured 8 1/2 with the Cabelas women's shoe sizing chart and I bought size nines. They're fairly snug mid foot but also had some extra wiggle room here and there. Not enough to return but worth noting. I wore medium thickness hiking socks with these. There is room to wear thicker socks, I think. If you have narrow feet you may want to get your normal size.

These go pretty high on the ankle, higher than my hiking boots. I did have a little trouble with them rubbing on one of my ankles, but it seems better now. (there's a hard plastic piece inside the shoe near the ankle that was doing the rubbing)

I am very happy with these, they were just what I needed. I have also worn them in the rain. My feet have never gotten wet.

For the price these are an excellent deal! Thumbs up from me!

Cabela's Snow Runners, April 1, 2009
By jlbhuskers from new york

"They were great! I went snow mobiling and hiking in Alaska in March, my toes never got cold. They were comfortable to wear, without having to "break in" the new shoes. They are light weight, so I did not feel like I was "moon walking"!"

Snow Runner is excellent, March 31, 2009
By Ymphelp from Florida

"I was going to Alaska so I needed a WARM and comfortable shoe. I went on the internet and found great reviews on this shoe so I decided to get a pair. They are very comfortable!!!. I usually wear a 7 and got an 8 instead. I did so to have room for heavy socks. It worked perfectly. I was on my feet for 14 hours many days and the shoes are very comfortable and nice enough to wear inside as well out. Excellent product and quick shipping!!!"

Excellent, March 24, 2009
By akachopper from UPPER PENINSULA of Michigan

"Actually a friend had purchased her boots a couple years prior to when I purchased mine. She highly recommended then. She raved about the warm and comfort. I finally broke down and bought a pair. I am not a compulsive buyer, and when I was reminded often of the ugly boots I was wearing for the past 4 yrs, I decided to make the purchase. I have been completely satisfied. Would not hesitate to buy them again, that is if they wear out! They are absolutely the most comfortable boots I have ever had and they are warm! I do not wear extra socks in them as I had to with my old boots."

Cabela's Women's Snow Runner, March 18, 2009
By Julieanna

"I read the reviews before I bought my Boots. I bought two pairs, one pair I bought a half size bigger than I normally wear and the other pair I bought a full size bigger. I wore the half size all day in 31 degree weather during the winter. They were warm with only one pair of wool socks and my feet kept dry. They are light weight and feel comfortable. The other pair, I can wear with two heavy socks if the weather was even colder. I decided that both pairs of boots were keepers."

Great Purchase, March 18, 2009
By JoAnnaE from Cuyahoga Falls, Oh

"So far I love my boots. The only problem is that right now they hurt my one ankle until they get a little more broken-in. I have not been able to use them in the snow, but I have gone hiking with them and my feet were dry and warm."
