dead deer,

"I use nothing but Dead Center Sabots! They have never let me down. Using 200 gr bullets, I don't think I've had to track my last six deer a total of 25 yards. My last one was a shot straight on in the chest. The bullet hit the jugular, one lung, completely destroyed the liver, broke the last rib and lodged under the skin. A perfectly mushroomed bullet."

"i was recommended these bullets buy a man at cabelas in dundee MI, for my new TC bone collector. I tried them and they sited in well. I took it to wyoming with me antelope hunting this year to try it out because we i also drew 2 doe tags. After killing my buck with my 270 i got out the TC. I took one doe at 165 yards and dropped her in her tracks, by far the farthest black powder shot i have ever taken. I found them to shoot most accurate with 130 grains of 777 out of my gun. Great Bullet"

the best sabot ever,

"I went on a elk hunt to New Mexico, shot a 6x7 bull at 208 yards, I hit the bull perfect taking out the top of the heart and one lung as it passed clean through the bull, he went 30 yards and dropped. I'm very impressed. I used the 300 grain bullet with 150 grains of triple seven powder and i'm extremly happy with the results!!!"

Great bullet,

"These were not my first choice, but my first choice was sold out at a local store. So I went with these, and I am glad I did. I have held off reviewing these bullets until I was able to review them on accuracy and terminal performance. Accuracy out of my CVA Accura good. Two 777 pellets and Winchester regular 209 primer I had a group at 100 yards I could cover with a 50 cent piece. This was by far the best group I had with a few different types of bullets. It was good enough for me. Termanally it also performed great. I shot a 110 pound doe at 50 yards head on slightly offset. The bullet entered her chest above the breast bone and traveled through her body cavity and stuck in her skin on the side of her abdomen. The bullet was recovered and intact, it was perfectly mushroomed to about the size of a nickle and appears to have retained most of its weight. It will be interesting to see how this bullet performs when striking bone as I hit none on this shot, but I have every confidence in it and would recomend it to anyone based on its perfomance for me on the range and in the field."

Long Range Dead Center,
December 30, 2008
By McBurcon
|
"I have used the 200 gr. dead center for 4 years now. I have killed 12 deer with them , and the name says it all DEAD CENTER. Three Bullets that were recovered of the twelve weighed between 130 and 140 gr. and mushroomed perfectly. I use 120 gr. of triple 7 FFFg , along with the precision rifle 25 auto brass ignition case from a T/C Encore. I shot one deer at 196 yrds and dropped it instantly, that is my longest shot. I also shot one last season at 176 yds. This season I shot a 140 " 10 pt at 98 yrds. I would recomend these bullets to anyone that wants to shoot long range , but i would also advise you to do your homework on setting up your muzzleloader of choice, out of the box my encore had a 6" group at 100 yrds , and it took about 2 weeks and some mods and research to get to 3 bullets cutting at 100 yds. The mods included 3 lb trigger, floating the barrel and installing an oversized wrist pin, and using precision rifles 25 auto ignition system. You won't be disappointed with these bullets!!!!"

50cal 220grn Dead Center Sabots,
October 27, 2008
By 4570

|
"Best sabots I have found for my gun. Shoots under 2inch groups at 100yards with 150grns of Pyrodex. Bullets hit very hard mushrooming to the size of a quarter. All recovered bullets held together well and looked remarkably the same. Most were found just under the skin on the far side. Not much blood trail although most were hit higher on the body. Hits below midline did produce a blood trail on animals that ran. About 40% ran with 60% dead right there. Best grouping and best expansion out of the 10 or so different ones I have tried including power belts. Was a power belt user except that they were inconsistent with the magum load in my CVA rifle. Switched to these and am very happy."

Dead Center "on paper",
October 27, 2008
By 19uplander75
from Minnesota
|
"I don’t recommend these bullets. I did give them two stars because they are accurate and load easily. However, in my opinion, they are not well suited for hunting. I only used these bullets on one hunt. The bullet struck the shoulder, smashing it. However, the bullet did not penetrate the shoulder. This resulted in lengthy tracking and required a second shot to dispatch the deer."

"Easy to load and they go where you point them. tried a few others, don't see any reason not to keep using these. More accurate and easier to load than some of the "Big" name brands being advertised. Still waiting for the M/L season to start, but I suspect these will perform just fine."

Dead center sabots,
October 14, 2008
By aerial72

|
"The dead center sabot is a very accurate bullet it improved my confidence while shooting my new knight big horn muzzleloader. This is my first time shooting a muzzleloader and I now feel confident I can make a clean kill out to 150yds. Using open sights makes shooting much further than that difficult for my "old eyes"! Thanks"
