The first time Cabelas has disappointed me,November 20, 2008
By DebbRfrom Superior, WI
"I was not impressed with this item and immediately sent it back. Too lightweight and very flimsy for the price, and the material is NOT ripstop. No way it would survive a day's stillhunt. The first time Cabelas has disappointed me with lack of quality."

highly recommended,September 1, 2008
By OldBullMoosefrom Langley British Columbia, Canada
"Had an opportunity to use the rain gear on a moose rifle hunt in northern brtitish columbia where it rained for the entire 7 days of our hunt. The rain gear was excellent and kept me dry. The weather was warm and I found the rain gear a little warm which is the only negative point but the positives certainly out weigh the negative. The other suggestion is to wear light leggings on warm days since the pants stick to the skin. The seclusion 3D pattern was excellent as my buddies were 30 yds from me and did not spot me in the willows. Will hunt same area in mid september."

"These pants breathed well and kept me dry. But the material is weak. While hiking, it snagged on a branch and ripped."

"When I first bought these pants (and jacket) I was impressed. I put them on and went out in the yard and ran a garden hose on myself for about 20 min. My cotton underwear was dry. They kept me dry through a few rainy fishing trips aswell. They were also a fair bit quieter than nylon rain gear. But they failed the true test of rainwear, that is moving through wet brush, grass, and snow that seams to push the moisture through the garment. I've come back to camp soaked and grumpy more than once in these. This isn't the first DRY PLUS product that has let me down, and I'm gratefull that Cabela's stands behind their products because I'll be sending these back."

Five star gear becomes 1 star, low tear resistance,December 7, 2006
By RangerGaryfrom Arizona elk hunter
"I thought I had the perfect rain gear--it was supple at sub-freezing temperature, extremely quiet, very light, and the perfect outer layer for a late season elk hunt over fleece pants. Four hours into the hunt, and I very lightly snagged a barb wire fence--and got a 2" x 6" square tear instantly--a rather large surprise in a "rip stop" world. Still I thought it was my fault, until I slipped them off an hour or so later and they ripped again, just from the friction of pulling--not abusively--over my Danner Frontier boot heel.
So, I'd be a bit careful--I was hunting open pine in light snow; I think if I was hunting in Arizona's chapparal country they wouldn't last five minutes. A great disappointment, as they really seemed 5 star in every other respect. Much to Cabela's credit, they'll make good on them, and I remain very much a loyal Cabela's customer...."

Cabellas' ES1 rain system still hunter pants,November 20, 2006
By SASS
"The Cabellas' rain system still hunter pants are equal to none. I have tried numerous types of rain gear in the past and these rain pants out perfromed all of them as well as met my expectations. They are not only comfortable, but they are so lite and durable I was able to move around all day while being in comfort. Out of nine hunters, I was the only dry hunter in camp. I put these pants to the test in one of the rainiest seasons I remember in WA. state. Spending multiple days in the down pours, the pants never leaked a drop. I would reccommend these pants to every hunter or fisherman."
