"Don't get me wrong, I loved these boots except for one minor detail....they SQUEEK !!! I purchased them a month ago just before leaving for an Upland trip to N. ME and for the first three days, they performed even better than expected. On the 4th day the squeek started and with every step, it only got worse. I tried to fix them but didn't have any luck. Buyer be warned, these boots are great, unless you want to stalk a grouse or simply go for a "quiet" walk down the road."

Great boots but could be a little more breathable,October 19, 2009

"I decided to purchase these boots because I wanted a lightweight, unlined Gore-tex boot that would be comfortable for the many miles I walk when grouse hunting. They are very light weight, they only weigh about half as much as my other pair of Browning Gore-tex boots. Mine did require a bit of break in though as the first time I wore them hunting after walking a few miles I noticed the back of my heels getting a little tender due to the seam on the inside of the boot that goes all the way from the heel to the top. The next time I wore them hunting however they were fine since they were now broken in a little better. I thought the shallow tread foam sole would not provide very good traction but I was surprised to find that they actually were quite good in this regard and they do NOT pickup and hold excess mud like other boots do and this is a good thing. This Kangaroo leather seems to be very unique. It is very stiff, tight grained and dense compared to cowhide of the same thickness and seems to be quite tough and durable as advertised. It also seems to be very water resistant, more so than any other cowhide boot I have ever had BUT that being said though, they also don't breath quite as well as other cowhide boots I have had so I guess it's a bit of a compromise between tough/lightweight/durability vs breathability. They are quite light, comfortable and waterproof and over all I am quite happy with them and would have rated them a full 5 stars if the kangaroo leather was a little more breathable."

"Finally after 23 years my old boots needed to be retired. Trauma was my only thought as they were so comfortable and served me through many hunts and other outdoor activities. I came upon the Cabala Uninsulated Kangaroo Upland Bird Boots and thought I'd give them a try. I could not be any happier with a pair of boots. Comfort from the moment I put them on and they needed absolutely no break-in period. That was a first for me over the past 60 years. We went out for a hunt and all day long they felt great, my feet stayed dry and most importantly they are very light on your foot. No fatigue from dragging a pair of heavy boots around all day. I would absolutely buy another pair but I have a feeling these may be my last pair....lol"

"I read elec. meters in S. Fla and put about 8-10 miles a day on my feet through all kinds of terrain. These boots have a super minimum break in period, and soft , durable leather (so far). I can already tell that a resole will be in order within 6-8 months--the soles are really soft. This is a good alternate for my Belleville Goretex--awesome boot too. Don't cheat the feet!"

"I am on my second Pair of boots in 4 years. These are great boots for Hunting the Arizona Desert. I hunt Quail from October thru February average 3 days per week. The uppers never wore out, just the soles, not unexpected from Desert use. I would recommend them to anyone. No break in Period for either Pair I have owned. I will own another pair as long as they are available."
