"Great gun case; however, if you intend to fly with it, plan on paying oversized baggage fees. On a recent spring bear hunting trip to Alberta, United Airlines advised that my checked baggage fee (for each item over 60 linear inches [length + width + height]) would be $125 for the first item and $350 for the second - each way! If the gun case will not be included as checked luggage, it is a really great item."

Excellent Case,May 22, 2009

"Excellent product. My Son and I went to Manitoba, Canada on a Spring Bear Hunt. We got to Canada but are guns and one suit case weren't with us. We filled out the lost luggage forms and drove 5 1/2 hours to the outfitters. Two days latter are guns were delivered by common courier to a local gas station. My shinny new case looked like the airline drug it down the runway and the courier drug it down the road. Opened the case and both guns were snug and secure just like when we put them in there, went to the Outfitters range and both guns were still dead on. The luggage rack and wheels made it great getting around the airport and the velcro straps worked well on a large suit case. On the way home before I actually checked the case I removed the velcro straps completly from the case and put them in my carry on for fear they might get lost in the bagage handlers world of airlines. I highly recommend this case."

"This product is not only not bulletproof it is not even airline cargo handler proof. I took it on one trip to Africa and it was destroyed. Do yourself a favor and buy a Pelican case. At least Pelican will replace it if it breaks."

"I transported one rifle,and some small items--shooting stick,knife,ammo,etc, in this case, on an airplane,from Ky, to Saskatchewan,with one flight change. My case was brand new when I checked it,but when I arrived, it looked like it had been through a war zone,with multiple,scuffs and scratches,plus a dent in the extendable luggage rack. Obviously it had been treated roughly.and had really been thrown around. I feared the worst---But, the good news---my rifle,with scope, was still as perfectly zeroed,and damage free as when I placed it inside. The padding/design obviously had protected the contents,from the baggage handlers. I especially like the extendable luggage rack, which makes it easy to attach other luggage,with the provided velcro straps,so you have a single, more manageble, package for navigating the airport. By using the built in wheels,and retractable handle,your luggage can easily be wheeled through the airport. If you must travel by air,with a firearm,expect the worst from the airline.and I highly reccomend, you protect your firearm with this case,which truly is "Bullet Proof"."

"Case was used on an African Safari and I was carring a SCI Blue Bag along with my luggage. I used the luggage rack to carry the SCI Blue Bag when I arrived in South Africa. I work great especially with the wheels just picked it up and my personnel luggage had wheels and off I went through Customs. Highly recommend it."

Lockable double rifle scoped gun case,November 21, 2006

"This case served us well on a recent trip to Argentina to shoot doves. We carried two Beretta 20ga automatics and a 12 ga Benelli automatic with a little room left over. The feature REALLY LIKE with this case is that it has an external padlock with a locking rod system. It is so much easier and more secure than the other standard cases which the airlines can go into the back and produce a key that will fit the lock!!! It is also easier to get the lock open, I have had other cases that the locks jammed, or you couldn't hardly get the key to turn them. With the increased security at the airports this locking system helps take the stress off you when having to open and lock the case so many times.
The durability of the case is good, and protects the guns well, but the finish is a shiny one, and the baggage handlers did a heck of a job with the finish. It is scratched and scraped up BIG TIME!! Looks like it fell out of the plane and skidded along the runway!! Might have, but I would recommend the case as the main reason is to protect and secure the guns, and it did a good job of that!"

Wheels but Weighty,November 8, 2006

"I recently purchased the Cabela's "Bullet Proof" Two Large Rifle Case with Wheels for an Idaho Mule Deer hunt I was going on. The case certainly did the trick and transported my rifle and shotgun safely and securely. The interior foam padding kept the guns from moving and they were held in place firmly. The Luggage Rack was a great addition to the case as I was able to load my duffle bag onto the case and wheel it through the airport. Two negatives......one, the case is pretty heavy and with the additional load of the duffle bag it was quite a bit of weight to drag around and two, the velcro straps weren't long enough to go around the duffle bag and got chewed up while transporting. I probably should have just taken the straps off as the luggage probably would have sat atop the case just fine. Sure, it's pricey but with several thousands of dollars worth of firearms to protect, it was worth the investment and certainly made transporting them much easier.
P.S. I got my mule deer on the first day without having had a chance to sight in my rifle due to bad weather. The way the foam firmly held the rifle and scope in place gave me the confidence to take the shot without fear that the scope had been knocked out of alignment. Not a good practice to follow and if it hadn't been for the weather I certainly would have sighted the gun in properly but it was a good feeling knowing the rifle had traveled in a very protected manner."
