"Excellent product. Purchased this case because it fits inside the drop bottom of a Cabela's duffle. It takes up about half of the lower space of a 30" duffle. The case is extremely well built, and locks up securely. Apparently TSA thought it was okay, because I wasn't asked to open it up."

"I bought this pistol case primarily for airline travel and it has worked very well. Relatively light weight, no sharp corners to snag, locks securely, and fits easily inside checked luggage. TSA had no problems with it. Spring loaded handle to keep it flat against case is a good idea, memory foam holds gun and mags securely. I use it to hold one large frame automatic pistol and several magazines, could easily hold two full size pistols. Good, solid product and I would highly recommend it for anyone travelling on airlines with a pistol or anyone who just wants a secure, locking pistol case for storage in vehicle, under bed etc."

"I was pleased with the construction of Cabela's pistol case. It may not be theft proof, but it does a great job to of keeping children/other individuals from getting to my gun. This product works well if you want to keep your firearm under your bed or in your truck. It is not meant to be a safe, only a case that locks. The material is tough and I like the memory foam on the inside. Another great product from Cabela's!"

"This case works great for my Raging Bull 5", fitting the gun perfectly in style as well as function.
My only gripe with this case is the stick-on Cabelas logo. It is held on by what appears to be 3M but falls off very easily. I would have given this product 4 starts for this but the problem was easily solvable with some super glue."

"This is a well built case, with solid corner welds that are ground smooth. Handle is spring loaded to lie flat against case body- good idea.
It will easily hold 2 1911 size pistols and their magazines. Got a thumbs up from the TSA folks for how securely it locks up.
Even though the case was in a larger duffel bag surrounded by sleeping bag, clothes bag, etc some baggage handler still managed to put a small 'ding' in one end. No harm to my .45. I would definitely recommend case this if you need to fly with your handgun.

"I can fit my small collection of pistols (3) in this obviously strong and relatively light weight aluminum case. I intended to use it for air travel when I ordered it, but once in hand I began to wonder if any room would be left in my luggage. A case like this stands on it's own, however, so it's great for the range, or really any travel. I trust it to protect my guns from any rough treatment, and look good while doing it."

"The case definitely seems to be close to bullet proof. Solid construction - welds have been smoothed so there are no sharp corners. Seems as if previous advice was taken on peening the hinge pin so it can't be pushed out. My 2 yr. old stole the locking bar but I just use two locks - feels more secure. Comfortably fits my Beretta and Springfield with 2 mags each. Overall, it is very comparable in price to plastic cases and I can't imagine ever needing their waterproof attributes so this case is a perfect solution for airline travel with your handguns. If you need a case for your pistols - Go for this one!"

"The Cabela's Bullet Proof case is all I expected and more. Rugged does not desceibe it, it's a mini-gun safe.
I would however inprove the piano hinge. As it come from the store, the hinge pin can be pushed out with and awl and then pulled with a pair of vice-grips, allowing the case to be opened from the rear. Peening both ends of the hinge pin will no allow the removal and solve the problem."
