"I have a Shiloh 1874 with a 34" barrel which makes it difficult to find a case long enough to adequately protect the rifle's long length. This case is exceptionally long and superbly constructed from heavy guage aluminum and a well-thought full length security rod that provides full-length lock down with a single lock. The edges of the case have 45 degree angles to minimize sharp angles that would otherwise get dinged or banged up. The TIG welds are excellent (good fusion, penetration and bead appearance) and consistant. That said, there are two things that need improvement.
1. Cabelas needs to double box this item. Mine arrived with a fairly large ding in it and while Cabelas was quick to offer a full replacement, it would have been uneccesary if properly boxed. The mfr's box just doesn't cut it. Aluminum is soft and easily dinged.
2. The mfr needs to fold back the inner exposed sharp edge of the aluminum all along the inside of the case. These sharp edges run the entire length and width of the case on both the top and bottom side making it very easy to damage a prized firearm. The foam should contain the rifle once closed and locked (not sure) but putting the rifle in (or removing it) from the case the risk of sharp edges of plate aluminum immediately surrounding your rifle is not reassuringl.
Otherwise, I am very pleased with the construction, appearance and likely, durability of the case and hardware."

"The saying "you get what you pay for" was written for this rifle case.
I got this case for a Pedersoli "Gibbs" rifle that I wanted really good protection for while traviling to and from shoots.
It costs a little more than most cases unless you get custome leather. I wanted something good looking and rugged and rugged it is not withstanding pleasing looks.
This case will last a life time and give the all the protection for a good rifle you could ever hope for."

"There is no other case that compares to the quality this case is made. It did not met my expectations, it literally blew them away. Yes the craftsmanship is excellent. I am so impressed that I immediately came to write this review after receiving this case. It has a lifetime warranty but again it literally will last several lifetimes, and that I can say after just having it for an hour. It is now earmarked as a heirloom, even without a gun in the case. It is that good!"

"This black-powder rifle case is just what I needed too protect my recurve bow during air travel. These days most bow cases built strong enough for air travel are designed for the shorter compund bows. My 56 inch recurve and my 62 inch longbow will both fit in the case and are totally protected from the rough handling associated with airline baggage handlers. Thanks Cabella's, I know the case was designed for a long rifle, but with your help, I improvised and I know my bows will arrive at the hunt in good condition."

"I searched high and low for a case for my 50 bmg and to no avail did i find one . Cabelas has come to the rescue for me once again. "The Bullet Proof" Black Powder Case which is perfect for those extra large rifles. Its really nice to know that even when you come up with something out of the ordinary that Cabelas does have all the bases covered. This stainless steel case definitly meets all my requirements and is definitly strong enough to hold the beast of a weapon."
