"I was after a case that I could fit my multi barreled O/U into and have it protected during prolonged road trips. The case is heavier in weight compared to poly cases. It definitely lives up to its name due to the quality of construction - The fit and finish of the manufactuing process is exact but the outer surfaces can get contact scratches. The contents will not move once the clasps are closed - well worth the $$$ for protection and piece of mind"

Really "Bullet Proof" Two Takedown Shotgun Case,August 22, 2009

"Case is really hard but shows any mishandling immediately -- the aluminum does scratch. Just an indication of how much abuse baggage handling systems delivered. 12 ga side by side with extra barrell and the stock of a 20 ga pump fit into the case, with no extra room. It will fit two broken 12 ga guns, but I'm guessing not two autoloaders broken down. If you have any concerns about over filling the case and rubbing, make sure you put parts into sleeves before packing. Foam is very stiff, to the point of stressing out the latches on the case when the case is full. Used a self set brass combination lock with a full size hasp (you may NOT use a TSA lock when checking firearms as baggage) and it stuck out farther than I would like. Engineering the rod/lock/bracket so that the lock sits flat would be a good improvement, but not one I'll likely use since this one will last a lifetime. It would be better if the rod that threads each of the latches and the lock hasp could be secured in some way -- it sits out pretty far from the case. Unlike some other cases, it really looks like a gun case, so mind the baggage claim. All that being said, the case is excellent, well under the size and weight restrictions for the airlines. A very well made case."

"I bought one of these along with Cabela's wheeled 2 compartment duffel bag. It is first class. The bottom compartment of the duffel allows me to open the case without disturbing my clothes. The combination of both ensures that nobody knows you are transporting a firearm. It even comes out on the regular baggage carousel. The dessicant is a good idea. I'll have to try it."

"I use this with a Browning Cynergy 12ga shotgun
It fits perfectly and has just enough room for small accessories.
I flew with this the day after I received it. Worked great and nothing moved. Not even a little bit.
The aluminium did scratch slightly from handling but thats what it is there for. No dents though.
Only improvement would be an edge protector on the inside of the case to cover the edge. It is a little sharp and could cause damage to the contents.
I have added a dessicant pack to the case and I put the shotgun into silicone inpregnated gunsocks before putting them in the case as added protection."

"Bought the case for my first pheasant trip to Kansas. Case arrived from Cabellas with small dent, but otherwise undamaged. I also bought the TSA approved locks from Cabellas. Gun arrived safe for hunt in Kansas and return trip to Florida. I wanted a smaller break down case, to reduce overall luggage weight and cost, since airlines are charging more these days for extra or larger luggage.
Would recommend this case, good and strong, I am sure it will last for my next hunting trip where travel by air is required."

"This case is close to perfect. I shortened the locking rod by an inch and a half to make it a little more snag resistant / baggage compartment friendly. Airlines will scratch it but the contents arrive in good shape. This is the second one that I have purchased. The first one had been to Montana and Mexico but was lost in a house fire."

"I bought this case today for an upcoming dove and pig hunting trip. It is the sturdiest case I found after looking at cases in three local stores, many of which cost more than twice as much as this case. This isn't some flimsy aluminum framed unit with riveted side panels. This is a solid aluminum box with heavy-duty hardware and a great locking system (all four latches are secured with the steel rod which can then be secured with a pad lock). I chose this size because Frontier Airlines limits you to 62 linear inches (length + width + depth) before going oversize. A 52" long rifle case will be oversized. This case fits my Mossberg 930 SPX with the barrel removed, an 18.5" barrel, a 28" barrel, an HK USP full size and three mags with a little room to spare. The foam is snug and nothing moves once the case is closed. The baggage handlers are going to have to really work to damage my firearms."

I notified Cabelas of the damage which I think had been sent from the company which produces these cases for Cabela's damaged. "I needed a THICK gun case for my Parazzi MX-8 Combo Trap Shotgun. I removed the stock it came with and replaced it with a Precision Fit Stock that reduces recoil and adjusts the comb in many directions. It just so happens that my comfort fit leans the comb over enough that my gun no longer fit in the 2.5 inch thick manufacturer case. This aluminum case with deep foam is wonderful. I have room for the single and double barrels, stock, extra triggers, stock repair kit and lube kit. The locking mechanism is fantastic. My friends at the trap range were plenty impressed! It was worth every penny to me!"

"This case is the best I have seen and used. It's construction is excellent providing outstanding protection for your firearms. The 45 degree heliarc corners are a great feature. I've had other cases where the square corners usually get damaged. The only recommendation that I have would be to offer the same case in the heavy duty aluminum which is in .080 inch thickness vs. .063 inch thickness. You can not go wrong with these cases."

"This is one incredible gun case! I bought one for myself and a buddy of mine got one also just prior to our annual pheasant trip to North Dakota this year. No problem holding a 28" 20Ga Browning O/U and a 26" 12Ga SBE in one case with a vintage 20Ga Browning A5 and a 12Ga Beretta O/U. Both cases were able to be packed with additional accessories. The cases came away with airline "character", but the contents were more than protected. I wish I'd bought this case long before now."
