"This duffel-sized case was purchased for automobile travel with too many hunters, guns, and dogs involved for multiple cases. I love the case, but would prefer that its' length were just a wee bit longer, maybe between the duffel size (32") and the regular two-shotgun model (36").
I carry a 28" O/U and a 26" SxS (barrel length), and it is tight, but workable, with no shifting during our relatively gentle handling. My rating is more like 4.8 stars, with the only degradation being how tight it is for a pair of nice guns.

Challenge the Airline with this case,July 15, 2008

"Last hunting season the airline won. It destroyed my Browning Gun case on a trip to ND. Time for a gun case that would give them a challenge. One of my hunting partners had this case and has used in several times a year - the airlines have yet to destroy it. For the same money as lesser "fancy looking" cases you can get this one from Cabelas. Same as from the manufacturer only $40 less. I have not been disapointed. When you order - remember to order a lock - it does not come with one. I ordered two (one for back up) of the airline approved model. Have a great season."

"I found a case that I feel confident will protect my Beretta through the rigors of airport handling. A little heavier than I expected, but to know your shotgun is protected is worth it all. The shotgun is securely compressed inside and will not move and become damaged. The case is attractive and became a point of conversation in the airport and shuttle. People were going home to look up the case on the Cabela's website. I highly recommend and I am purchasing the same case for my rifles."

"I own several firearm travel cases and this "Bullet Proof" takedown case is among the best. With the locking bar and padlock the locking and unlocking for travel and security inspection is foolproof, and I don't have to worry about flimsey locks built into the case latches (like on many cases) breaking (again, like on many cases). The materials used for the case are heavy and solid, and I doubt I'll ever see a puncture in the side of this case. Unfortunately I have had lighter weight aluminum cases punctured by baggage handlers. The case utilizes a minimum of plastic, and that is in the spring-loaded handle which automatically folds down and out of the way so not to get snagged on anything. This is a well thought-out case and one designed to provide years of functionality and protection to your valuable takedown double guns."

"I have been looking for a travel case to carry my matching pair of shotgun doubles; a 20 and a 12. I like to take both to the field so as to be able to choose the best for the situation. I need to be able to throw them in the pickup with all the other gear and know they are well protected. The Cabela's Bullet Proof Duffel Two Takedown Shotgun Case is unbelievable! With both guns in the case the carrying weight and handling is very nice. My friends can't believe that there are two shotguns in the case and it protects them very well. Plus it is very sharp looking. Don't pass this one up!"

"I travel alot and needed a nice lockable case that was not too large for my PLR-16 that's 19 1/2 " long, but not long enough where I needed a full size rifle case. Then I saw the Bullet Proof Duffel Two Takedown Shotgun Case that is 32" long and my PLR-16 fit just right with a red dot scoop and 3 - 30 round clips inside. Perfect fit! The only thing needed to the case is a removeable shoulder strap and it will be ideal! Thanks for a nice product! Mr. Tong Las Vegas and Brasil."

"Yes, it's bulletproof as advertised, but about as heavy as a wall safe .... with 2 guns, I'd suggest bringing along Gunga Din or a forklift to carry the thing. For airline travel, better inquire about the baggage you're allowed to check and the weight limits if you're trying to avoid an overweight or excess baggage fee. Other than that, you can probably drop it from a 5 story building without damage to the contents ...."

Easy to Lug Shotgun Case,November 20, 2006

"After a few seasons of lugging a full size shotgun case to the yearly South Dakota Pheasant hunt, I sorely wanted to treat myself to a smaller no-compromise case. A $20 Cabelas gift certificate pushed me over the edge. I was able to comfortably stow my 12 and 20 ga over and unders and there was no shifting around after simulated gorilla luggage drops ( I tested before trusting). The smaller case was a real treat and the airport security folks liked the easier handling as well. The scrape marks from the return trip gave it a well worn look and reminded me that a good case is a great investment. It's a great product that you will keep for many years and will not be nervous about loaning to your in-laws, but make sure you engrave your name in the aluminum first."

"I bought this gun case not knowing what i was going to get, when I got this case, I was astounded on how heavy duty this case is. It comes with a lifetime warranty, which I do not think you will ever need it. The contents in the case never shift. I would recommend this case to anyone willing to invest a little money to protect a more expensive product."

"This is a very sturdy, durable case and it looks fantastic also.
ONE WORD OF ADVICE: Be sure to measure your gun to make srue that it will fit inside this case. I ordered this case to carry my 24" Benelli SBE on cross country trips. Even though my barrel length is 24" when you include the receiver, it did not fit. I ended up ordering this exact case in a larger size."
