"Went out on saturday september 12th 2009 with a friend of mine and we hunted some public land in northern illinois. There were 6 or 7 more blinds that were hunting and their decoys spreads looked like garbage compared to mine. When we saw the first flock of geese they saw the decoys and circled and we did some work on 5 of them but that is the only flock we saw that day but between hevi shots new HEAVY METAL and my decoys I do some work on the Geese."

"I have now bought 24 of these decoys. Paint chips easily but the geese could be so high up they need oxygen tanks to breath and they still drop into the decoys. You blast some the rest take off, circle and drop straight back into the decoy set.
WARNING: they look too real that anybody else seeing them will blast them."

"If you are looking for a decoy that will hold up during rain, snow, or icy conditions then GHG DECOYS are NOT the way to go unless you plan to refinish the paint on them before you use them next year. Within 2 months of hunting the paint on mine either turned a greenish brown or just flaked of completely forcing me to remove them from the field. I've since snadblasted them to remove all of the remaining factory finish, primed them with a plastic primer and repainted them to see if I can get a few more years use out of them."

"I just purchased these! And used them one time. ONE TIME.It was a really rainy day too! As i was putting them away. I noticed the flocking was coming off in my hands And the shiny plastic was showing thru! Then i noticed the paint was starting to chip off. I called AVERY and they sent me new heads immediately.But what am i suppose to do repaint the decoys now? Killer looking.. BUT some of the weakest decoys ive used before. The only reason i'd recommend these is cuz they look SO real!And they fool the birds. But You WILL be babysitting them all season. For the money. Go with BF's. Theyre 50 times tuffer! And almost as realistic. I didnt experience any problems with the heads coming off. So maybe they fixed that problem!"

"the flocking comes off easy and the heads don't stay on well. i did state i wouldn't recommend them to others because they work so well and look so real. if everyone used these i'ld have to upgrade again. use the individual slotted bags and keep an eye on the paint. if you hunt around me, PLEASE, don't buy these decoys."

"These are the most realistic decoys I have ever used. Be sure to buy the bags to separate and carry them individually. The paint does chip and you'll be doing touch up if you don't take exceptional care of them. They are very effective as drawing in the wary goose.

"I loved these goose decoys when i first got them after christmas 2006. they looked so real and were what we needed for our goose spread. i have hunted over them from late dec 07 till jan 31 07, then the entire 07 season so far.
most of the eight have minor to big paint chips, and we do not abuse them at all, they all get stacked by hand everytime with the avery keel grabber weights so the weights arnt banging against the body. the flocking seems to be holding up pretty good with only a few little dings in a couple of them. the one big problem i have with them is the heads and how they DONT stay on. i thought after spending that much money on goose decoys i would be able to throw them out in the morning and then not have to go chase down the head and put it back on the decoy. i didnt want to, but i was forced to glue the heads on the decoys. the keel on the decoys is set very close to the body, making them very good to stack because they sit almost flat, BUT this makes it very difficult in the morning throwing them out because since the weighted keel is soo close to the body of the decoy it doesnt have the ablility to untip a goose decoy that is tipped over from landing upside down. they keep the decoy upright once out, but theres always 1 or 2 every morning that i have to chase down and flip upright while setting out decoys.
overall i love how these decoys look, and i will probably buy avery floaters again, ill just stick with the lifesize. they dont cost as much, and they will fit in the boat a lot easier.
ps- i love cabelas customer service, if there is one reason to buy your stuff from cabelas it is because of that reason. its worth paying a little more knowing that if you dont like what you buy or if it breaks you are going to be taken very good care of. GREAT WORK CABELAS"

"What is the use of a decoy if you can't use it? I bought a dozen of these and could only get 4 heads to fit on. After takeing them on and off a few times even those 4 split up the sides and fall off. I think the decoys look great when you buy them. However after 1 season of use. I have had to glue my heads on and half of them are loosing paint. I have never babied a set of decoys like this before and they are by far the worst look dozen decoys I have had after one year of normal wear and tear."

"If you want geese,these are what you get. Let the decoys do there job..It was tough hunting today but we got a flock of 8 to lock up and we got half of them...I put out 8 close to the blind..4 resters..4 sentry. I used a very soft greeting call these geese were fixed on these geese decoys. These were big 13 to 14 pounders and you could see their eyes were fixed on those decoys..I saw today why I spent the extra last year on these decoys..When it is good any good decoy will work but when its tough you will get them with these..No doubt about it today, these decoys take it to the next level.."

"I have a complete set of 8 decoys. The best example I can give, I used one sentry and one rester. A flock of about 20 birds flew over the 2 decoy sets, saw my Greenheads and came straight in. After the shooting was over, the leftovers lifted and landed in the 6 other Greenhead decoys I had left on the water at my friends blind.
These two sets were the only ones that produced Geese that weekend."

"I bought a dozen of these decoys last year and have had nothing but trouble with them. The way the head connects to the body is a joke. They don't twist on flush most of the time. I have had two heads split at the seam putting them on. They are very realistic looking and I bagged plenty of geese over them last season but they are not the most durable decoy I have ever used. If you pack into your spot I would not recommend these for that style of hunting. Even though we covered the flocked heads with socks and bought slotted bags the decoys still took a beating."
