"I have had these socks for a while now and I'm here to tell you that they are very warm. I have used them with un-insulated rubber boots in 10 degree weather and my feet are toasty warm. These are not the socks to get if you're looking to do a lot a hiking because your feet will get too hot, but for slow stalking or sitting in a tree stand or blind they are GREAT!"

"These socks are very warm and comfortable. I use them in my waders (which are Cabelas brand) and inside my wet weather boots (which are also Cabelas brand).
I also wear these in any of my winter boots during the winter. Up here in Canada it can get to minus 35 degrees Celcius (-31F) for days on end, not counting the wind chill. I wear these socks in my boots and work outside all day without getting cold feet. I typically have cold feet in the summer so that is really impressive for me to have warm feet all winter long wearing these socks. I would definately recommend these socks. I also wear the lighter weight Outfitter socks in the fall when the temperature is a bit warmer - they are great also."

"I have had many pair of these socks wore in the last 3 years. They do not seem to wear out at all. They are very warm and most comfortable due to their thickness.
The reason I gave them a 4 and not a 5 is because I ordered about 5 pair last Christmas and they had a flaw in them. All 5 pair did not have the shin pad in the front, they must have changed the design from a couple of years ago when I had purchased 3 pair.
Would still recommend!"

"These heavy weight socks are not all that heavy weight. They initially feel heavy but behave like foam rubber....thick in appearence but easily compressed. They may be really great socks, but they are not heavy weights. Socks in question replaced Cabela's socks I had worn for several years. According to their desription, the new socks were supposed to be as thick as my old socks when they were new. As it turns out, my old wornout socks are actually thicker than the new socks. If you need a medium weight sock the Outfitter Series Heavyweight Socks might be just right for you."

"I just got back from Nebraska where the temperature was 8-30 degrees on average. I wore these socks with 800 gram boots and my feet stayed very warm. My feet would sweat a little walking in but these socks kept my feet warm even damp. I tried a different pair of socks one day and my feet froze. By far the warmest socks I've ever had.."
