These boots are NOT warm!!!,November 17, 2009

"Just came back from a deer hunt in Canada. Early morning temperatures not lower than 28*, afternoon temperatures 48*. Used a double pair of heavy wool socks also. Lots of room. For 1,200 grams, my feet should have been warm while in my stand. Instead, feet were cold until temperature got over 40. Tops of boots seem to have heavy insulation, (padding), foot area seemd to be insulated but with these results I doubt it, perhaps mostly padding. These boots do not have the proper insulation distribution in the foot area to keep you warm when you need it. With 1,200 grams of insulation and a double layer of wool socks, these boots should be keep a hunters feet warm all day long even if temperatures don't get above freezing. Also I am concerned they are not going to keep my feet dry. No rain this trip, but a walk through some shallow water, boots were damp by the end of the day. (Even tried some water-proofing to compensate later in the week, did not correct the water infiltration. Good job had a warm stove to dry them out over night). I think I will pay the extra and buy a good pair of Danner boots. Although Danner may have lighter insulated boots, (400 GRAMS), seem to be warmer and dryer when you need it the most, (two of my hunting partners had 400 gram Danner boots without any complaints)."

"Overall, great boots. I havent got a lot of use out of them yet, but they feel very durable and you cannot beat the weight, they are super light! "I've had these boots for 3 years and overall i have no major complaints. They have kept me warm during many sub-freezing archery hunts and the comfort is good. the only thing that happened was the last winter, the third season, i used them 1 of the boots began to leak on the outer edge. I have owned several pairs of Cabelas brand boots and have been sold on their quality although this was the first pair that i had that began to leak so soon with minimal wear."

"I purchased these boots because my feet get cold during deer hunting season. Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to use them because even though I ordered a 12W the wides are not very wide. The quality of the boot seemed good, but if you have even a slightly wide foot these boots are not for you."

Great cold weather boots!,January 6, 2009

"I've had these boots a couple of years and they have done their job for three fall hunting seasons. They feel more like a pair of comfortable tennis shoes than boots. They are light weight and have kept my feet warm still hunting in ground blinds and tree stands on days in the twenties and above. I've worn them in colder temps, but have used those one-time footwarmers for a little extra warmth.
This last deer season I wore them still hunting on a cold and rainy first day of general firearms. After several hours of on and off rain showers and the dirt in my ground blind turning to mud, my feet stayed warm and dry. Fortunately, having warm, dry boots and wet weather gear payed off with killing a nice buck when the weather "cleared up" in the afternoon. Also was visited by a soaked coyote and the grandfather of all black bears (more like a vw bug with fur) that day. Probably wouldn't have stayed too long and stuck it out that day if my feet were wet and cold.
I also wear these boots around the farm during the winter months and I only wish the soles were a little stiffer for farm chores.
I'm not sure if they were made for long distance hiking. About the farthest I've walked in them has been about 2 miles at one time. They seem to stay comfortable probably because they are so light weight.
I also like the fact that you can get them in plain brown instead of camoflage since I'm not a real flashy dresser."
