Great cocking rope,

"I have a Barnett Quad 400 crossbow and all of the other "good" cocking ropes I have seen were too short. With the way this cocking rope is built ANYONE can use it as the rope is adjustable so you can adjust the length of the rope to accomodate your particular pull preference. For those of you that are not familiar with the Barnett Quad 400, the cocking rope actually sits on the very back of the stock (where your shoulder goes). So long story short the rope is long enough to go from the string ALL THE WAY around the back of the crossbow and back to the string with about 6" of rope left.
I would HIGHLY recommend this item to anyone. I have actually cut my group size in half since going to this cocking rope versus cocking the crossbow by hand."

"I have found the Excalibur Crossbow Rope Cocking Aid to be a very useful tool. And, it is very well made of quality materials. I consider myself to be strong and fit, but pulling back the crossbow string is difficult without help, and is hard on the fingers. So, the Cocking Aid works perfectly."

"I got this because I was struggling to correctly and efficiently cock my upgraded Hunters/TenPoint 175lb crossbow. WOW! What a difference! Even with a bad shoulder, cocking the crossbow is remarkably easy. Follow the enclosed directions, trim the rope to proper length, and your all set. The price is right and Cabelas had this shipped to me fast."

"Excalibur's cocking tool is very well made. It is comfortable and fits my hands well. The hooks are large and smooth so that they don't damage the bowstring, and there are rollers to make the rope pull smooth and quiet. The adjustment instructions are clear and make that operation a cinch. I started to try my new crossbow without a cocking tool, and get one later if I needed it, but with hunting season so soon I decided I'd better order it along with the crossbow. That is definitely the way to go. I wouldn't want to use a crossbow without it. Good stuff."

"I tried the cocking device on my crossbow and found that by adjusting the rope length, effort was greatly deminished. I showed it to a friend who has cancer and is much weaker than me, and now he can cock his crossbow whick previously was impossible for him to do. The look of accomplishment on his face was very emotional for me and I gave him the device. What more can a person be gratified for?"

"Great product. I have to use a crossbow this year due to arm surgery. I cannot draw my compound at all. When I got my crossbow I thought I would need to get a crank device because a rope might also be hard to draw. But, the Excalibur Rope Aid required very little effort and no strain at all on my injured arm. Easy to use and convenient to carry."

"I found that the best way to use this cocker is to hook it on with the hooks facing towards you. You will have to lift up on your string to hook both sides. once you have it set up properly get some white permanent marker or a little paint and mark the left hook and (or) handle with a little F. Do the same thing on the right hook and handle. I hook whatever side I grab,string the rope over the stock groove and hook the other side by pulling up the string a little. Move both hooks close to the rail and cock. You can leave it hooked to the string when not in use and it won't get lost. Don't even worry about the handles until it is hooked to the string and the handles will be in place to pull. I too have a bad shoulder and find that my excalibur vortex(200lbs) pulls easier than most other 175# crossbows. By the time you sight in your crossbow,you will have it down cold. Good hunting"

"I am an average Jo that loves to hunt, through the years I've have had to have several surgeries on my shoulders, and I am having some trouble drawing my bow, and of lately cocking my new crossbow. thus the reason for my puchasing this device. I thought it would be easier but it has turned out it is not, when using this device you have to pull the handles up over your head to cock the crossbow string, thus causing much pain in my shoulders, If you don't have any problems with lifting your arms over your head I would recomend this product it did seem a little easier to pull, till I had to reach up over my head."

"I bought this cocking aid for my Barnett Quad 400. I saw some reviews that stated it would not work on this bow. They must have not used it properly, because it works great on mine! The notch located in the top of the butt stock works great for the rope to hold on to. I did not even have cut the rope for a perfect fit. If you are considering buying this product, than don't hesitate go for it, you won`t be disappointed. Thanks Cabelas and Excalibur for this product."
