"This is a beautifull piece of work. However, as others have mentioned, it was a surprise that it was not painted/treated.
We have a couple pieces of Cabelas Lazer art that hangs on the wall, which is acid treated to give it a rusty/gassy look. Very beautifull! By the image on the website of the fire rings, we expected them to have that same acid wash effect. It is a plain steel look.
Recommend painting your ring with a high temperature paint, such as BBQ paint.
Overall, very nice product. Would purchase again, even as a gift."

"Very nice fire ring! Heavy duty steel with really pretty laser art work on the deer and trees. We painte ours with black color rustoleum (like for grills) We use ours almost every weekend. We enjoy it and have had many compliments. Everyone asks where we purchased it."

"We have used the ring twice now for camping trips in the woods. Before we used the ring we sprayed it with high-temp black paint (as suggested by other consumers). The ring is so easily assembled and to tear down to store for future use. We have a homemade grate for cooking on and it fits perfectly on the ring. The ring holds the grate without any problems."

"Absolutely beautiful. Only one thing I would recommend: "Be sure to spray it with Hi-temp black paint before its initial use." It's just "bare metal" when you get it... and if you don't spray it first, it will rust badly! I'm sure with a little touch up sanding and hi-temp paint at the end of every summer will keep it beautiful for a very long time. It is made of a high grade piece of steel, and the art work is flawless. So much better than just a campfire. We cook over it with a grate, made of 1/4 inch "diamond cut" steel, and there isn't any steak or chicken better than cooking it over a "wood" fire.
If you camp out or just cook out in your backyard, you've gotta' get one of these!"
