"My liberal neighbors hate it and my conservative neighbors love it. It stops a lot of on-lookers regularly. Nice and dry but somewhat small for the amount of mail we get. A name plate somewhere would be good. The front door is shaped like a shotgun shell. Which is not bad just hard to get stickers to stick to. We love it. It makes a statement that goes along with our Cabela's shotgun weather vane."

Quality is a little fishy,

"I bought the bass for my boyfriend for Christmas last year. He absolutely loved it. We waited until Spring to put it up and like some of the others have stated, the paint did not hold up well at all. After 1 short month the poor fish looks like he's been through 10 years outside. I'm going to try to paint him up but I am not real happy with the quality for the price paid. The door is pretty rough looking too, getting rusty and sticking. This is a great eye catcher and conversation piece but be prepared to do some maintenance work on it in a very short amount of time."

Looked great but didn't last,

"I purchased the shotgun mailbox last December for my husband for Christmas. It looked great at first but within the first 6 months half of the paint has worn off on the top. It now looks terrible. I'll have to repaint it after less than a year. Loved the looks of this product at first but the quality is less than acceptable."

"This mailbox was purchased at the Kansas City store. Within one week the paint began peeling off the top of the mailbox. The mailbox was placed in an area sheltered by the house. For the price paid the mailbox should last more than one week. I have spoken to others that have similar products and they have had the same problem. Very disappointing. Needless to say this item was returned."

"My wife gave me the baby bass for x-mas. Just got around to putting it up.Turns lots heads.People are always walking in our neighborhood. Lots of comments. Went up in place of old box in no time at all. I really like the one way screws. Mail stays dry and looks great even better when its wet."

"Great colors with appeal to all. Not only to fisherman but fisherwomen too. Includes children as grandson wanted to put it right up. Come springtime it will be outdoors doing it's intended purchase. This was a gift to my husband but guess who wanted it. Could have been me I guess. I'm sure our fishing friends will want one too. By the way, the hooks that hang on the bottom, add a realistic touch too."

"The only mail box of its kind in this small town filled with die hard fisherman. Nothing but "wow's" from neighbors and friends including our mailperson. Everyone is wishing they would have had this idea. Being able to order online is much easier and gives me the extra time to think about HUNTING & FISHING. Thank you Cabelas"

"Great mail box made in China.
This is my third.
First lure box lasted almost 2 years before catching its first SUV trailering a boat.
Second mail box lasted 6 months before snagging a black pickup truck.
The finish holds up well to sun and UV rays. The door latch will become brittle over time. Eyes develop "cataract" and become cloudy. Generally rust proof. Keeps mail dry.
Eyecatching, colorful and distinctive mailbox.
The 3rd lure box ordered was a "Fire Tiger" pattern. Even said so on the box. However that was not what came out of the box.
Price is a little steep."

"We LOVE our mailbox! We have the best mailbox this side of the Ohio River. It is truely unique! We get comments on it all the time. Just the other day a stranger stopped to ask where we got it, I said Cabela's!
Mounted on top of a 6X6 at the end of our side walk it is the perfect accessory. Goes great with the matching bird feeder Cabela's also offers. Even though its round its still very spaceous.

"This is the second mailbox that I have purchased and they have and continue to be a major conversation piece. I have had tourists stop by the side of the road to take a picture of the fish mailbox. I live in a fishing community and it couldn't be more appropriate. I highly, highly recommend them. They are sturdy and great quality. Thanks for the fun."
