"I read all of the reviews on this tent before purchasing and for the most part everyone thought very highly. I am even more pleased than I thought I would be.
The tent sets up easily, and after a few minutes of adjustments it is rock solid. It does not move!
Took the tent on a weekend trip to the Guadalupe Mountains in far west Texas. The wind was 40mph and it was 20deg outside. I was toasty in the tent, with no wind coming in.
Excellent product, materials, and workmanship. Worth the price!"

"Awesome tent! I bought this tent for the hunting season. It has seen wind, snow, sleet, and rain and held up great against all the elements!!! It is easy to set up and take down. "I am a big fan of truck tents. Having owned a Sportz Truck Tent, I had to buy a new tent after selling my short box Chevy and went with a long box.
I saw the Adventure I Truck Tent in the Cabelas catalog and thought it looked decent and well built. I ordered one and it arrived within a few days.
I received the tent and found it not to difficult to assemble. The quality of the material is very good. What I didn't realize until I went to put the tent onto my truck is that this tent does not have a floor/bottom. Now, for some that might not be a big deal but this tent has to go up with the tail gate down. Did they not realize that there is 2 inch gap between the end of the bed and the gate when the gate is down? Being that Cabelas is a Minnesota based company, which is home of a trillion mosquitos, this tent cannot keep the bugs out. I improvised on a trip and put some pipe insulation to fill the gap but then again, they still found a way to sneak in. The tent doesn't fit completely tight around the lip of the bed. It's not bad but not enough to keep small insects out.
Also, the tent is somewhat like a covered wagon. It's height is not needed and acts as a sail when the wind blows. Even in a moderate wind "storm" I kept wondering if this tent was going to blow off of my truck. The front and rear of the rain fly is like a wing, ready to fly away in the wind.
I went back to a Sportz Truck Tent and found that it does seal up nicely and the dome shape tolerates the wind much better.
I sent my Adventure Truck Tent back."

"GREAT TENT I JUST GOT THIS TENT IN AND I JUST TRIED IT OUT AT HOME BEFORE I GO TO YOSEMITE IN AUGUST. THE SMALL TENT LENGTH WISE FIT GREAT IN MY TACOMA X-RUNNER. JUST THE STRAPS DOWN ON THE SIDE ARENT QUIT LONG ENOUGH SINCE MY TRUCK HAS A BODY KIT. BUT EVERYTHING FIT REALLY GOOD AND IT WAS EASY TO SET UP. IT TOOK ME 15 MIN THE FIRST TIME TO SET UP. EVERYTHING IS LABBLED REALLY GOOD FOR THE POLLS.

"I have used this several times camping and found it to be very easy to set up. I did the first time in my drive way to get al the straps adjusted. Every time since, it works like a dream. Heavy rains last weekend by the Thousand Islands in Upstate NY were not a problem. We were warm and dry inside playing cards until the rain stopped. Great product at a great price!"

"What a great tent. We have used it on several weekends and this truck tent serves as my wife and I's Bedroom. We set up a seperate tent for our 3 girls and it has worked out great. Comfortable and roomy. Does not get as cold as sleeping on the ground. Would highly recommend it to anyone who camps alot or like to have their own room when camping with the kids. We are headed to Ohio for the Alive Festival with 20 other Church kids and adults. We are looking forward to using our truck tent again."

"I was a little sceptical about product origanaly because of the price, but with two trips now under my belt it was worth every penny! Tent materials and workmanship are of the highest quality. Easy set-up / take down and compact size. Will withstand rough conditions just fine, 45 mph wind driven rain on the first trip without a drop inside. Perfect match for the truckbedz air matress. Small size fits my 2002 tacoma like a glove!"

"I got the Adventure 1 small truck tent and it fit my Toyota Tacoma like a glove. Its very easy to set up and take down. I took it to Roaring River State Park in SW Missouri the weekend after I got it and it worked great. The last night I camped it downpoured and the river came up very rapidly, but I was high and dry. They evacuated all the campgrounds that night. All I had to do was load all my camping gear in the back and move to higher ground tent and all."

"The second time I set up the tent the web strap on the right front just lost all it's stitching and all I had was a hook in one hand and the strap in the other.No warning or loose looking threads.It was as if the web strap that holds the hook to the larger strap had never even been sewn.Luckily I had access to a stapler and stapled it together.That seemed to work for the night.If you go out in the wilderness with this tent take some assorted size bungee cords for emergency tie downs.Actually the hook can be slipped directly onto the strap and that works,it just shortens the strap.All in all I love the tent and would reccomend it to anyone except those who have no ability to think on their feet."

"I bought the Adventure I tent for use for extended astronomy camping trips with my '08 Toyota Prerunner. I have used it once so far, without the fly, and am extremely happy with the tent. Coupled with the TruckBedz Weekender mattress which I also bought from Cabelas, I felt like I was sleeping in a quality hotel...not quite like home but very close. I have also been in contact with the manufacturer about upgrading the poles and they were more than accomodating and very friendly to boot. I highly recommend the Adventure I tent to anyone interested in truck camping."

"Once you get past the instructions, this is a great design. I had back surgery several years ago and never thought I would camp again. I trailered my bike to Sturgis last year and rolled the dice with this tent and the air mattress. I read the other reviews so I took a couple practice runs in the drive way and some overnight camp trips. Once you figure out how to set it up and stowe it away, it's really about a ten minute job. A big storm came up one night in S. Dakota but while other tents were flying away, mine was holding fast to the truck. There is more than enough room for two people and the opening to the truck cabl makes it convenient to fill the air mattress."

"I bought one of these and was quite pleased with it. One thing I did not think of though was how much more colder it gets inside the tent on those cold nights..Remember, sleeping inside in the bed is like a refrigerator, the metals just sucks in the cold temps..Just need to keep warmer clothing on..Great product for keeping you off the ground though..never had an opportunity though for rain...but I did set up with strong winds and yes, all you have to do is reposition the truck..."

"I love this tent... a little pricy for what it is... but at the end of the day its all worth it. It sets up easy but you gonna need help the rods are color coded with the tent so you cant make a mistake even tho no instructions are included. The materials are heavier then your regular tent and and very durable... it shows, very well made.
This tent is nice because its clean keeps the dust out, I used it on a trip to the desert and not to have the sand in it at the end of the day it was great and when you needed to move positions because of sun or wind or location... just move the truck and your tent moves right along with you no breaking down necessary also having the tail gate down and fully enclosed makes the place a whole lot larger inside with plenty of space. To break down is easy it folds into a small package and ready to go in no time. The only problem I have with it is the rods get a little stressed at their joints so keep an eye on that might have to have them replaced but check with your warrantee before it expires."

"I received this tent in anticipation of opening day of deer season. I got to camp and set up the tent in my truck only to have 2 of the clips that hold it inside the truck snap off. Luckily I always carry rope and was able to tie it in. The tent itself is very good and fits well, the plastic clips are way too cheap. My hunting buddy had a very small carbiner clip for a flashlight that fit the bill perfectly. Either make the clips out of metal or something much stronger than currently used. I plan to buy those little carabiners for all the clips so I won't have a problem next time."

"Went "truck camping" with some friends for the first time in our Toyota Tacoma. This was the envy of our more experienced friends! Not quite standing room inside, but comfortable kneeling height. Most easily erected with two people, it has no floor but doesn't need one since it completely encloses the entire bed. It's a winner!"
