WHAT YOU WANT TO KNOW,November 16, 2009
By lucki
"Just cause I did it does not mean it should be done. I Have a 27 foot fifth wheel that I put a class II reciever on. The heaviest the trailer could have. {so I was told} I wanted to take my bike, a TW200 on a deer hunt in Arizona, I live in Idaho. I got the bike carrier, shortend the tongue as much as I could that the bike would still clear. Loaded up the bike, about 300 pounds and took off. I pushed everything to the limmit and then some and did it for 2476 miles. No problems. If you notice, the people that complained it was to flimsy, not one had a failure they just thought it seemed to weak, and it does. The carrier is not ridged but it is more than strong enough for it's purpose. These type of carriers creat more tork than the same tongue wieght of a trailer so check for stress cracks in your welds and metal from the carrier to the frame of the tow rig."

Works Well- and great price,October 15, 2009
By GoldRiverRatfrom Arlington, VA
"I bought this to carry my '02 DRZ 400 S in my '97 4Runner.
If you are of reasonable strength and size (I'm 5-11 170 lbs.) you can load and unload without any help. I had to remove the support bolts for the front tire since its 21" wide, but be sure to put the locking pins thru the front rim to be safe. With the bolts removed for the front tire it drops way down into the cradle- which you want to make it more stable. The rear tire sits on the carrier using the supplied bolts
The key to this carrier is to use RATCHET straps- don't use anything else- and put one on each handlebar and crank them down to compress the bike's suspension. The strap on the back (toward the vehicle) I hooked into the safety chain keeper on the hitch to get a more horizontal angle on the pull. Using the hole supplier on the carrier made the angle to vertical and not as secure.
To be extra safe- I run a 3/8s inch chain thru both rims and secure to the hitch. That way if the carrier failed the bike will still be chained to the truck and not flying down the road."

Awesome cabelas did it again!!!!!,September 10, 2009
By res2cuefrom Hurricane, WVa
"I love this carrier. I have already used this thing a ton and it works like a champ. Its extremely easy to load my KXL 300, and I no longer have to take my tool box out of bed everytime we go riding. I have made several 200 mile trips already without incident. I only wish i would have waited and bought the two bike carrier due to a looming purchase in my near future for my oldest son."

Won't work for bikes with a fairing.,April 4, 2009
By xcrider2
"I decided to take a chance and see if this carrier would work for my sport bike. The fairing does not clear the once the front tire drops down into the front slot.
I think it would be perfectly fine for any dirt bike with tall suspension, but it is definitely not for sport bikes with a fairing. I am sure that there are example of people making it work with modifications of course.
The quality is decent.
Plan on 2 people to load/unload. My bike weighs less than 400 lbs, but the ramp angle is pretty steep and it is awkward to try and do it by yourself."

Motorcycle Carrier,September 29, 2008
By Yakimikefrom Yakima, WA
"This is a great product for the money. It was easy to load and unload the bike, I could probably do it by myself but having a second set of hands to steady the bike while tying it down made it a snap. It sure beats having to buy a trailer for my bike or the hastle of taking the canopy off of my truck."

what a deal!,August 25, 2008
By yz450from NC
"I own a haulmark trailer (6x10) and love it but I wanted something smaller for just taking my yahama yz 450 to the track for the day. It took me ten min to put it together. I put it on my truck, loaded my bike and around the block I went. if you only need to carry one bike this it the ticket! And a lot cheaper than flat bed trailer."

Carrier dissapointment,July 23, 2008
By BTC01
"This was a huge dissapointment. Quality of product was very poor. First, we had to re-drill a hole because it did not line up. This made it some what crooked. Then after use the weld broke on one of the places to put the ramp. We can now only load from one side instead of two. I did not send it back because of hassle in packaging and cost and I just do not have the time to spend on it now.
We planned on using this behind a van, a pickup truck and a camper (after making a mount for receiver).
We could not use it behind the Van because it was only 6" off of the ground when loaded and we were afraid it would drag in parking lots and if we hit a bump."

Works well,July 9, 2008
By TW200DUDEfrom Syracuse, NY
"I purchased this item to carry a Yamaha TW200. It works well! The ramp is a little tricky if you don't line up the front tire correctly, but other than that it works. The TW200 has a big back tire so therefore I used a tie down strap around the rear tire to help keep it in place against the frame of the carrier. Getting it tied down can be tricky by yourself, but with practice you can develop a method that works for you, or just have a second set of hands. It's a great alternative to the $300 - $400 alternative carriers. Get out and RIDE!"

Motorcycle Carrier,June 17, 2008
By DBKNYfrom Brooklyn ny
"I have a very small dirt bike, Honda xr100 and tt works great and is very easy to use with that bike. The only concern I had is the handlebar against the back window. Just make sure you have a soft grip or put something spongy between the window and the bar, especialy off road."

What's not to like? This thing rocks!,October 22, 2007
By ScottFLfrom West Palm Beach, Florida
"The answer is Yes. Despite the "450 cc limit" of the ad copy, my 2007 Honda 650XL fits on there quite nicely. The bike is 325-or-so lbs., so I think the 'limit' is more of a weight guide than anything else. There is a bit of slop in the holes that accept the hardware, but the thing is structurally very sound- it's built like a suspension bridge. I just assembled it with the bolts at the far ends of the holes- yeah, it's not perfectly square, but the center of gravity is lower and there is no way for it to move any further. As it came. the bike did stick way out from the vehicle, and with the suspension on the truck compressed by the weight, a steep driveway required caution so the bike wouldn't drag. I didn't need nearly as much clearance as they gave me, so I ended up chopping off almost 6" of tubing and drilling a new pin hole. Now I have less sag and a closer fit, still with room to spare, and no worries of tearing up the bike tire or rim. Much more convenient than any trailer, I can put it on and get the bike on and off with no help. Easy to store, no tag needed, no extra charges for 'axles' when on a toll road. For my bike, this is a great accessory. Be safe out there! S."

Exceeded my expectation,August 6, 2007
By ThePearlfrom Warm Springs, VA
"This motorcycle carrier is exactly what I was looking for. I have always had a camper top on the bed of my truck and I did not want to remove it just to carry my motorcycle. This carrier offers me the best of both options. It is very sturdy and carries my Yamaha TW200 or my TTR125 with easy. Even though the TW200 has an oversized rear tire this was not much of an issue. As long as you buy high quality straps to secure the bike to the carrier, you can rest assured that your bike will be safely transported to your riding destination."

NO WAY!!!!!,July 30, 2007
By MOTOBIKER1
"The carrier was of poor construction, extremely thin metal and when assembled, it would not carry my bike securely. The receiver tube is undersized and rocks in the receiver causing the bike to shake. After hours of modifying, the carrier can be used. I would never recommend this product."

Motorcycle carrier,July 9, 2007
By JDinMTfrom Montana
"My friend bought one, recomended it to me. I bought one and it hauls a motorcycle on the back of my camper perfectly. (I had a special hitch installed before I could use it on the camper) Says it will handle 500lbs, but I think a 270 pound dirt bike is plenty for this rack."

Motorcycle Carrier,June 5, 2007
By jhamfrom Boise, Id.
"I will be using this carrier to haul my 1972 Honda CL175 (camp bike) behind my motorhome. I used it for the first time to transport my bike for service work. I liked how easy it was to load with the ramp but I'd strap the bike to the carrier with one strap and then one around the upper area of the bike so it can't pitch back away from the host vehicle. It supported the bike while traveling with out to much teeter-tottering, weight of the bike should be a major considersation. I will be rigging up some brackets to the outside of where the bikes wheels lodge for long trips. I feel this should take a lot of stress off the receiver and the tube frame of the carrier. This probably more for my piece of mind."
